This is my landscape photography daily vlog number 5. I am travelling to Spain for a commission and I will be documenting the entire journey as I travel around Andalucia in search of beautiful landscapes to photograph. Today I try to rescue by favourite image so far, which is soft. I then continue on to photograph more beautiful locations in Andalucia. Sponsored by the Consejería de Turismo, Cultura y Deporte de Andalucía. Co-financed with European funds.

I hope your view count and engagement numbers are proving what I have always believed: As great as your photography is, YOU are the star of this channel. I really hope we get to see more like this (or perhaps a hybrid of your usual content and vlog-style) in the future. Keep up the good work, Thomas!

I bit the bullet and upgraded to PhotoAI during their black Friday thing. I use it a LOT for wildlife photography. My kit doesn't lend itself to super low-light, so a lot of my images are noisy. PhotoAI does an AMAZING job cleaning them up. Very, very cool to see what it does w landscape images.

As a videographer, I appreciate when the client doesn't require us to hike for many hours with 60+ kg's of gear. But you do what you have to do. I shoot stills for myself on the weekend. Wildlife and rocket launches. I have started initial processing of my images (I shoot with the Canon R5) in their software before I go into Lightroom. Their software seems to handle initial editing better. Their proprietary color science seems to do a better job. I am also a fan of Topaz AI. It is remarkable at sharpening and denoising. I appreciate your hard work and enjoy your channel. Cheers:)

I've been loving this series. I've actually been looking through every photographer's videos. I'm so glad that you went through at a little slower pace than everyone else. I kept on wanting more with everyone else's videos. Also I actually love that you used all the resources available to you and tried to pronounce the names of the locations. They have all been really close, if not spot on. Many others never even tried, even though they had drivers as well.

Topaz is amazing! I screwed up my settings bad once when I was being a dad taking snapshots of my daughter with her favorite KZbinr Chandler, from Chandler's Wild Life, and not a photographer. I cranked my ISO without even paying attention and everything was absurdly grainy. I decided to give the noise reduction a try, was blown away, and paid for the entire suite. It has since saved me on a couple real estate shoots where it looked good in camera, but focus was just a touch off once I got it into Lightroom. Now it can go way too far sometimes, but man does it fix some blunders!

Tom, absolutely great videos as always! Re: the issue of tripod-mounted but 'shaky' conditions, have you ever considered carrying 1-2 bungee cords and a tent stake? You could place your camera bag under the tripod and tighten a cord to the tripod bottom hook. OR, where you are on dirt, you could plant the stake under the tripod and then attach the cord to it.

Hi Thomas, Tip for taking pictures with lots of people around and not having them into the frame is to stack ND filters and take 15 to 30 minutes long exposures, even an hour, then all you have to do is to guard the camera/tripod so that nobody bumps into it. Once I managed to take a pic of an empty San Marco square in Venice using this technique,
@alexven92
@alexven92 7 ай бұрын
Does that really work well? I mean surely a person deciding to sit somewhere for 15 minutes will come up as a shadow on the photo or not?
@nilofido411
@nilofido411 7 ай бұрын
@@alexven92 you are right, if someone is sitting or standing relatively still for the majority of the exposure it will show up in the picture, and also the difference between the brightness of the background and obstructing object ( people, vehicles etc.) plays a factor on how long a a details has to be in the frame before it actually chows up; someone dressed in black in front of a white wall can definitely stay in the frame a lot longer than someone dressed in white against a dark background. As an example of two extremes you could think of taking a picture of the Brookling Bridge, at rush hour it won't work, but one hour after sun rise in the summer it will and you would get the bridge totally empty.

Welcome to the club. I've got lots of smaller company software and each of them have their particular uses. Topaz, DxO, Nik, Nikon NX etc.. Topaz, especially the individual apps, can save a day and has controls of the settings. Motion blur, lens blur can all be improved to a degree, just watch artifacts and dial down as necessary. For high ISO, noisy raw files I find DXO the best starting place. People often complain about buying software but, compared to the price of our camera gear, it's tiny and can save the day...

I have been using Topaz Sharpen AI for about a year now and it is unbelievable. It works wonders, especially with old scanned negatives. It is also great with digital B&W images. Of course it also works with digital color images, but can make them a bit crunchy, unless they are horribly unsharp to begin with. All the best.

I have ave been using Topaz for years as a plugin for Paint shop Pro and Luminary. I was once "counseled" by a nice Colorado State Trooper for stopping in a safe spot along a wide shoulder to snap a quick but wonderful shot of a draw with stunning fall colors. So now while driving I keep a "snapshot camera" (a camera setup so I can use it one handed) on the seat next to me to try to grab shots I see as driving and when I can't stop. It does not always work, but sometimes does.
