I have been watching your videos and following your progress since you were flying drones. I want to fly so bad but I have a mentality that there are certain things I am not deserving of or will not ever be able to do. Flying is one of those things. I am not 5 or 6 years older now and don't have perfect eyesight either. A couple of my friends got the flying bug from me and are now pilots and I am still on the ground walking. Keep flying my friend, I get my joy of flying by watching your videos.

Hi Tucker, I have the 34 triox (single trike) and every thing you mention is spot on, except, on the 34, the brake flare pull might be a bit easier at landing. I don’t know what your trims were set at but wait til you open them up, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the speed(remember tip steer past the last red line). Good choice. It is a very comfortable wing to fly.

My 2c: The magnum felt better for doing "around the field" flights and I thought was a little easier to toss around based on the brake pressures. It was also more lifty (being a classic glider) and made taking heavy passengers easier on the moster. The down sides are that it oscillates and is slow. The triox 38m really is great for "sightseeing" flights with a moster. Its super stable, fast, and eats up turbulence like a champ. Handling feels more "reflex" in that it rolls and dives more easily. The biggest downsides in my opinion are the decreased climb performance when flown with a moster and the huge brake pressure. I landed this wing with tucker in the front trims half out and did ACTUALLY lift from the seat. I think that trike with a thor 303 will be a beast of a tandem rig though. Overall if you want to go fast and turn good on tandem, get a 34 triox and fly products eco. ;)

the hang points on the trike, have you feed the webbing through its self(choked it like a lifting sling), is that how it should be?, Do a lot of working at heights and this is one thing we don't do as it weakens the sling. So genuine question.

I’m glad to hear your comments about brake pressure. I was afraid it was just my puny arms. With the Helvenco Aero1000, I have short take-offs at half throttle with the TriOx 34. 220lb trike (with fuel, reserve, accessories), 185lb pilot.

Watch for tucks Tucker. See what I did there? When I was paramotoring a few years ago I was conscious that the larger area of wing gave slower landing and takeoff speeds but was more prone to tucking because of the lighter wing loading.

I don't think it's cheap anywhere. I'm headed to the place Tucker shot this video in about a month for their 2 week training class. Between training, travel and equipment it's going to wind up costing about $17,000. (Plus another $1500 for a tow bar and rack for my car so I can transport the thing). Definitely not a cheap sport to get into. But man, it got under my skin. I need to be able to do this.

So the new wing is cool but what I really liked was the time-lapsed demonstration of of how to pack a large wing into a bag at the end :). On a more technical note, you mentioned getting a bigger engine for more power. Presumably, that engine would have more mass. Are you approaching the point where z 4-cycle engine might be a possibility? They weigh more, but I wonder if that might be offset by the increased reliability and the eliminating the need to mix oil into your gas? In any case, I truly enjoy your videos and you have me wondering if perhaps with a trike, this might be what a certain 64-year old guy might be looking for to have fun with. Makes sense it uses more power, you are flying faster. Drag is a function of speed, so the faster speed means more power, no? What happens if you trim it to fly slower, say the same speed you were flying the old wing? Does the power required go back to what you expected then?

Great review, my conclusions are dead on with yours on the triox. I’m sure you used the tip steer which makes the tandem wing turn like a sport glider and with little pressure. I’ve flown the triox and my ITV bulldog (both 38m) on the flash / 250 setup of mine. I’m 230 and with a 195 pound passenger was getting 300 fpm up on the 38 bulldog, unknown on the triox but it felt about the same. Only issue is with the weight and 250 your gonna burn fuel.. 2 gallons an hour for me hanging out in the 5800 to 6100 rpm range with a redline of 7900 on the 250. Good video man! Good to see ya in Florida last week as well :)

Power hungry fast tandem wing needs a heavy powerful reliable engine with big fuel tank. Overall weight and speed and brake pull force will increase. Transportation will become more difficult. All that just to fly a bit faster and be able to turn a bit more agressively..? Do your passengers really desire to fly fast and cover a lot of distance? I do not think so. They are usually happy with just an easy 1 hour flight in the neighborhood. In slow speeds they are not cold, takeoff and landing do not scare them so much, cameras of their relatives have more time for nice fly-by photos... And you would have to learn to care for a different engine... Just some thoughts, no pressure :-) I also bought a tandem wing for 2021 and a tandem trike, so I like to watch your progress :-)

How practical, I don't know. BUT it would be possible to have a roadworthy 3 wheeler and a PTO that drives a propeller. Takeoffs and landing might be tricky since you'd have to control both bike and wing at the same time. The idea is interesting though.........

Hey Tucker! I'm a new pilot who is looking for a new PPG setup, I want a safe and good wing that I can use for both freeflight and paramotoring. My local instructor recommended something like the Dudek Universal 1.1, along with the Moster 185 since i weight about 95kg buttnaked :) Im not very well oriented on what cages (preferably with low raiser-mounting) there is and so on. My flystyle would be low to medium altitude cruising with some not too hefty maneuvers such as small wingovers and slalom. What would you recommend for me? Thanks! Mikael - Norway.

This sounds like transitioning from a 2001 Honda civic to a 2001 Toyota avalon. The break on the civic just normally goes down close to the floor as it your trying to floor it with the gas pedal. The Toyota avalon has an inch break pretty much lol

Well, looks like you should put a stuffed bear on the buggy with you, fly around with the bear as your passenger, then offer the bear for sale, for auction, or as a free prize to a winner. That would satisfy the millions of fans' desire to see a grizzly bear in flight, but without being eaten, violating wildlife laws, or endangering the public... oh, and wouldn't the FAA love to learn about a paramotorer taking an actual bear into the air?.. lol.
