Aperture tag also uses vacuums lol. But the opening is still very creative and unique specially with the wall opening part 👌

Hi! I've played your portal chapter 5 map series twice, left some comments here and there, mainly on how you did stuff, and I was wondering if it is possible/you'd be comfortable doing dedicated tutorials for certain things that people can't find tutorials to? More specifically, how'd you make the relaxation vault move with all that stuff in? I'm very new to hammer, so I don't know. All I know is triggers and how to place props and walls. Also, how'd you do the grate attach to that moving panel? And, most importantly in my opinion, how did you do that diversity vent. More specifically, how did you make it remove the weapon portalgun and not allow the player to move, essentially move their camera. In other words, how did you make a diversity vent that acts like that one Chapter 3 cutscene after you destroy the neurotoxin generator.

Hello! I'll definitely be making tutorials on lots of the things you mentioned. I'm currently working on a tutorial for making cores, but after that, I already plan to make a tutorial for diversity vents which will cover all the things you mentioned as well as a bunch more. I'm sure I can also add animating panels to the list as well. The relaxation vault moving is a lot more niche so it's unlikely I will make a dedicated tutorial for that anytime soon. But if you want to know, it was essentially done by parenting all the models and brushes of the relaxation vault to a single invisible moving brush. These tutorials will take some time before they're out, so if you need more information fast you can try this website: developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Category:Portal_2_Level_Design

Oh cool! I won’t say no to more fancy scesie maps. After portal plus chapter 5…I thought you were moving on to more non-portal projects-I’m happy to be wrong! Check out Portal Divinity modDB page for some nice winter themed maps.

Yeah, I was only ending chapter 5. I reckon I'll keep making maps and portal content for a long time I didn't even know Divinity had winter maps, definitely would be interesting to see some more takes on wintery aperture

@@scesie agreed. Like some nice big icicle columns would be cool

I really want to help you in development, I've been mapping for over 5 years now and excel in the most basic p2 styles, can I help? (If you are still developing a mod of course).
@fred2077gmod2 күн бұрын
If you need, I can show a portfolio of my work, and the ones I've done recently (they're for my own project, since I'm no longer creating content for the workshop)

I appreciate your offer to help on the project. But, this is a fairly small (only several maps), personal project. So on this project I will be working alone for the foreseeable future. Sorry. If you want to join up with a team for a larger project, I know that Portal System Failure is occasionally accepting level designers, it's possible they're not looking right now, but if you're interested you can contact them.
