Getting ready to send my sons 2018 Pro 4x from FL to Alaska as he’s stationed there in the Army. What have you done to winterize yours? Obviously no one down here in Florida knows anything about that. Just put a set of Duratrac’s on his after seeing your videos. Great vids. Rockford Fosgate kicks some serious sound!
@northland_frontier3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! So the best thing you can do to get prepped for winter climates is to have an undercoat applied on the vehicle. If you prefer to apply it yourself, you could buy a few cans of Fluid Film and spray it all throughout the underside of the truck and focus more on the frame and even suspension components. Always be sure to have some sort of winter emergency kit in the vehicle (a shovel😂) and also extra pairs of warm clothing every time you head out. Never hurts to have bags of sand/salt too just in case you need them, plus they’ll even add some weight to the back to help a little with traction. So besides a good rust protection option and good tires, you’ll be just fine. I truly appreciate the support and hope your son enjoys the vehicle out there! Send my regards and thank him for his service. Take care🤙🏽🤙🏽

You have a Really nice truck, I've been thinking of getting one within the next 6 months but I am stuck between Frontier and Ridgeline. One of the reasons I'm on the fence is the cab size it appears so small and the other is the fuel economy. Have you found the rear seating very crammed up and what kind of mpg do you avg? Thanks for your feedback
@northland_frontier4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jay, Thanks for the comment! So in my opinion, if fuel economy and overall cabin comfort is your priority, the Ridgeline would be the better option for sure. Fuel economy is not ideal with this truck and especially with my heavy 10 ply off road tires. However, I find the front driver and passenger seats very comfortable in my truck and in terms of the rear seats, I knew the room would be limited but the couple of times I was back there, it was ample but I would not seat 3 in the rear for sure. The interior is definitely dated but it has everything I need for a daily driver and I believe the frontier is a better all-rounder type of truck where it rides well in city and is capable off road too.

Great looking rig man! Was curious if you could share what LED kit(s) you went with for the headlights and fog lights? Also, was install/recalibration relatively easy? In your video they looked great. I just picked up ‘16 pro4x (also silver) today, and the headlights are my only complaint!
@northland_frontier3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Jonathan! If you check out my recent upload it goes over the LED conversion I did with my truck. Although I did lose my headlight and fog light install, it was very easy. I haven't gone around to the recalibration yet but how it projects right now works well for my usage!

I have a 17 frontier SV. Love it. What does the breather and filter help with?
@northland_frontier3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for commenting! It is a kit that relocates the breather higher up to prevent water, dirt, mud, or grime from entering the differential housing and blow a seal thereafter. An essential mod for every Frontier owner!

For sure Sam! Thank you for your comment and tbh it'll really come down to your personal needs such as cabin room, engine displacement, towing capacity/payload, and if you ever got a chance to drive them, the overall fun factor and daily-ability. There's so much that goes into making that choice but I think you already know which one I'd get😂 best of luck!

Much like the CVPI, you don't need a lot of tech for these vehicles to last forever and still be versatile. The less tech, the less problems.
@northland_frontier3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the input! It's definitely true that the vehicle doesn't need lots of tech to be functional, reliable, or versatile but it doesn't change the fact that it is outdated. I enjoy all the tech and features of the truck because I daily drive it but I don't think an update would be the worst idea either.
@Tier1Norseman3 жыл бұрын
@@northland_frontier look up the new 2022 Frontier. I think it's an ugly copycat Chevy Silverado/Toyota Tacoma look but a lot of people are liking it. My 2012 Frontier is so heavily customized it turns more heads than a Ford Raptor ha ha. Always get compliments when I'm out and about. But I also have a 2010 CVPI and I have had some compliments for it as well. If they put a land nav module in the Frontier and maybe adjustable pedals and a different center console option, I would be satisfied. I do with it was a bit more roomy because I'm too tall for anyone to sit behind me ha ha.
@northland_frontier3 жыл бұрын
@Tier1Norseman I've seen the new 2022 Frontier and personally, I think it looks great and is a tasteful update to the truck line. A lot of people are saying it looks like a tacoma but I completely disagree because they don't share any similarities in the body lines at all. They might've been focusing on the colour that was featured in the release, which does look like a cement grey, I will admit. However, I love my 2nd gen Frontier and the new release isn't quite enough to make me want it right now.

Thank you for your input! For me, a daily driver is a vehicle that I'm comfortable in and is capable of getting me where I need/want to go on a daily basis. However, this one fits for me but it may not for others for reasons/factors that include gas mileage and cabin noise as well.
