I needed to hear this. My mind gets into an all or nothing mentality where I think if I can’t spend an hour in Bible study and prayer I shouldn’t even attempt it

Same. Im so grateful right now to have found this content and comments... for a minute you think you are the only one struggling with something so simple. God bless you all.

There's no way I could read and write that much in 5 minutes - BUT - I probably could in 15 minutes. Point taken - even 15 minutes (for me) can be valuable. Thanks for pointing this out

So true! 5 or 10 mins is better than none at all. But I make sure I spend more, especially to start my day. I'm blessed to have the freedom to do so, never want to take that for granted! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Well this certainly wasn’t on my fyp on KZbin shorts here for no reason; I’m finding that I am getting up at the hour my husband is for work early in the morning (as per usual) but instead of going back to sleep immediately with baby, I spend my time even when I am tired reading the Bible and I only say that I am going to read ten minutes of it and often enough it ends up being me reading fifteen chapters!! (Of John I believe it was) but I also find that I can never recall what I read ever and that is frustrating! When just in high school and college alone (I’m nearing thirty now) , I was an A student when it came to writing and reading ! 📖 now it seems I can’t even remember one thing !

Hi there! I'm a wee bit older than you 😂 & I also have difficulty with my short term memory. Have you tried highlighting passages that stuck out to you or making small notes in the margins or a notebook? I find then I can go back over the passages I've read or my notebook and refresh my memory & what I received from it. God bless you richly & your precious family!! 🙏🏼✝️💕

Psalm 51 is my favorite Psalm. If you haven't heard Voddie Baucham's sermon on it, you should....SO good.

Please do not let all this extra make you feel overwhelmed. This is not what God cares about. He just wants you to speak to Him and allow Him to speak back. So pray and read your Bible, start where you are and enjoy real intimacy with your Father

How do you choose which commentary you want to reference? I love this idea!

Same here, I was wondering the same thing. ESV commentary was mentioned right?

I don’t see how people write in their bibles. I can’t! I don’t even like to highlight stuff. I would need a separate notebook! So much anxiety on one page.

Why do I feel a little unsettled when I see someone write in and use markers in The Bible as if it's just a text book and not the sacred Word of God. Couldn't they just use sticky notes or a notepad? Something that doesn't damage it?

I recommend getting a bible dictionary to help. Faith went to Seminary school, so she has a strong foundation for studying.
