Thanks for supporting the channel. I'm really enjoying building this system in Notion, and sharing it in these videos: Let me know below how you organise and collect the content that inspires you, and make sure you subscribe to see more of these videos in your feed. Nice one!

I just find you from Thomas Frank's notion that I love to watch. I organized my life with outlook and google calendar, my tasks, habit, and productivity that linked into Alexia that I sync them to Alexia.

Thank you for this. I have adhd and went through chemo a while ago and the brain fog is intense. Systems are my lifeline with neurodiversity and I have taken the whole day to hyperfocus on learning notion and building it along to your videos. It’s helped me take the next step into getting back into my life. Appreciate it so much.

I called BOI "All the Things" I am a teacher and I am always looking at ideas, lesson plans, resources, etc. I am also a mom and wife who looks up mom and wife things. This way I can put everything into one place and sort it out where it goes. Kind of like a library. I am able to use just one database for personal and educational and easily find what I need. I also love how you leave this open ended (rather than providing a template). It makes it easier for me to learn the system and then customize it for my needs. Thanks for "teaching me to fish".

I've watched a dozen Notion KMS/Zettelkasten videos and this was the first to really make it click. It's so easy to get tripped up in complexity when designing these, your's was very useful to see. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this, Simon! I built my own version in Notion and have used it for the last week. With help from your videos I wrote and produced two new music tracks in time for an industry conference deadline. I’ve been procrastinating forever until now so this was a big breakthrough for me. Keep up the great work!

Another great video of yours that is full of so much value. I very much enjoy the pace of your Notion videos as I find that I can easily follow along and don’t feel overwhelmed. I have set up mine as a Commonplace Notebook for personal interests and a seperate one to capture ideas/inspiration for my 2 creative businesses. Much gratitude to you, Simon. 💫

Hey Simon, Loving your videos. Already building out my dashboard and seeing the benefits. I'm curious -- I'm having trouble finding the walkthrough where you create the "task inbox" where you add a task quickly, associate the project and then it goes into its respected task category (today, 7 days, etc). Is there a video that goes over that and if so, can you point me to which video it is? OR - I understand how to make a linked table, what filters would I need to apply to it?

Another cracking video Simon! Only issue I'm having is with the web clipper, none of them seem to be working for me at all today (extensions in any browser) will find my pages but not the databases. Tried about 3. Was just getting excited to start dropping all sorts in there as well! 😁

Thanks pal. How strange?! Chrome is the only place to use Save to Notion. Check out that recent video of mine - it’s by far the best one and o would think you can get that going. Otherwise reach out to Notion and ask? :)

@@BetterCreating thanks Simon, I use edge primarily but chrome extensions do normally work with it fine being a chromium browser. I do think I might have solved the issue though if anyone else comes across it. I use two account profiles for edge and having the extension installed on both instances seemed to caused the issue for some reason 🙂

Very useful. Is BOI the same as your collection of Notebooks? Is it the same database?
@BetterCreating
@BetterCreating 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Alistair, it’s not the same database - I use the BOI for collecting links to references quickly and easily, rather than my own work & personal note taking. However - it would be super easy to link the two databases through a relation field if you so wanted. Thanks for watching and hope it helps 🙂
@alfcnz
@alfcnz 3 жыл бұрын
Great videos and nice lighting! So, if I’m recapping correctly, BOI is for long term storage of interesting content while the reading list contains only what you plan to consume. But something on the reading list doesn’t necessarily belong to the BOI, although they share the same underlying database. Am I right? And the reason behind this is to be able to search the entire collection.
@BetterCreating
@BetterCreating 3 жыл бұрын
Yep, I’d say that was a fair reading of it! I like I can drop a quick link in the reading list I’m interested in but haven’t looked at, but also not mix it up with the collection of stuff that resonated with me and I’m keeping to reference in the future. That said - I might simplify it. :)
@alfcnz
@alfcnz 3 жыл бұрын
@@BetterCreating it makes total sense. If you read it and deem it worth preserving, you can simply add the BOI tag, and that's it. Very clever! Anyhow, thanks for sharing! 😊

Hello Simon in my case i can't sent a link in my Bibliography from my phone and also from chrome with extention. Can you help my with this problem. I'm a PhD student from Greece and i have found your notion videos very accurate and motivated. Thanks, Andrew

The page on 'Knowledge Bank' is laggy.. All the other pages works fine, how does this come? I just worked with your template
@BetterCreating
@BetterCreating 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joram, just picking up messages and comments now. That’s strange: perhaps it’s because it is a combined database that carries a lot of elements? However, I’ve not found this and not heard others having issues. Ultimately, there are times when Notion can be slower loading, I’m not sure there is much o can do to help fix it: but I will take a look at the template when I have some time to look at it...

this one was rather confusing, it seems like an unorganized stash for all possible source materials, hopefully this makes sense as i watch newer videos
@BetterCreating
@BetterCreating 3 жыл бұрын
It is definitely a stash of everything you find valuable. The way it is organised to be searched is a) through the tags system to group material, b) the related project / content column where you can link references to the relevant project, c) whether it is something you’ve added to keep, or things you want to consume on a reading list. Hope that helps. I wouldn’t be putting everything ever into it! :)
