Here’s the tip:
Batch your kitchen work. For example:
If you’re cooking tonight’s dinner, while you’re stuck in the kitchen do at least the lower maintenance parts of tomorrow nights dinner (cook rice, for example). Or, while you’re waiting on part of dinner to cook and you just have to stir here and there, pack lunches for the next few days.
The point is: if you’re in the kitchen doing one thing, batch your work and BE IN THE KITCHEN. Commit to getting as many things done as you can that will make the next 1-3 days easier.
I like to do this with a casserole type dinner like stuffed shells that is best day 2 any way - so night 1 I make that nights dinner, but also prep the shells so night 2 I just have to put the casserole dish in the oven and make a quick salad and garlic bread. Then, night 3 we have leftovers. So in one night of cooking we have 3 nights of dinner covered.
How do you like to batch your kitchen work or cooking?
