This whole covid thing has really made get into Fitness and eating properly. I have stopped Drinking alcohol and smoking, for about 6 months now. I am working out almost every day, lost a ton of weight, put on some muscle and just generally feel a lot better- and its all made me realize, I really love this stuff. I am currently looking into classes to becoming a nutritionist and going back to school but- I am so nervous about lol.

I did the same thing about 5 years ago. Got off the booze, quit smoking, started learning about health, lost 50 pounds working out and got cutt. Quit my dead end job and went back to college at 37 and my brain was so healthy I finished the prerequisites for Dental Hygiene in record time on the honor roll. When they say you can do anything you put your mind to they are incorrect. The truth is that we are capable of many times more than we even realize. Our greatest danger in life is not that we aim too high and fail, but that we aim too low and succeed. 💪😎👍

This was incredibly uplifting and educational! Thank you so much Lyndi, I’ve been tossing with the idea of studying a bachelor degree in nutrition and dietetics and this video is exactly what I needed to see right now! I’ve constantly heard, “That career won’t get you anywhere or make you any money” Which has definitely hindered my decision and I’ve hesitated for a year thinking maybe they’re right, I won’t be successful. All I want to do is help people live happy, healthy lives, and as I’ve struggled with my own nutrition issues, this is something I’ve always thought about pursuing. Just yesterday I submitted my application to study this degree! I’m so happy I stumbled upon you and am eager to continue to watch you blossom in your career! You’re a blessing, thank you again 🤗

@mbrjjcj26324 жыл бұрын
You are binge eating because your body wants sugar and we need sugar for energy. Sugar is carbohydrates and carbohydrates are fruits, veggies, pasta, potatoes, whole grains. It is all about eliminating animal products. So search for plant based recipes and try it. You can still eat pizza, pasta ans other foods but in plant based version and you will loose weight.

I've never EVER commented on a KZbin video. Which is crazy, considering I am 24 y/old. I graduated from Utah State University with a dietetic degree, and am now just finishing my internships throughout the US. I LOVE dietetics, and I love counseling. I am getting very stressed about what I am going to do once I finish with my RD exam. Today has really been a life decision kind of day, so I was watching video's by dietitians, talking about their career. I have started a few small businesses (gymnastics coaching, and seamstress work) while I was putting myself through college. When I graduated, I decided I wanted to have a 9-5 job, because I would be able to stop making stressful decisions. However, watching your video, not only made me feel more confident in my abilities to be a successful dietitian, it also made me remember how much I enjoyed owning my own business and working my own hours. THANK you for your calming words. Great job finding something you love!

Cost of internship, long application which felt off putting cause I didn’tknow I had to do another internship after graduation (found out later taking a class that is how this whole thing works), it made me feel like I fell out from my passion cause of the shock. But something about learning more about food really interests me. Did you have to complete a dietetic internship after you graduated from university and then pass the RD exam and get your license to practice, in order to become a dietitian? I’m from the US and that’s the main way we are required to legally become and practice as a dietitian. So how does it work for your country? Is it where you can be considered a dietitian as long as you compete your 4 year degree? Thanks in advance.

This was so informative thank you! I don't know if you'll read this, but I would like to ask you a question: I'm thinking of going back to school, but since I'm in my 30's I don't want to go to a four year college. I'm looking into certificate programs from Hawthorn University or Bauman College so I do two years instead of four and its cheaper too than 4 year degree. My question is are certificates taken seriously in the industry like 4 year degree or would I be wasting my time?

Hi, I am a registered dietitian. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist but only registered dietitians have the professional credential that is recognized as being the expert in nutrition. I went back to school in 2014 when I was 45, so don't let your age hold you back. I had an associate's degree previously so I was able to transfer all of my undergrad classes to University College which is the home of Syracuse University's part-time studies. My degree is still from Syracuse University but I paid a lot less because I was a part-time student. After I obtained my bachelor's degree in 2018, I got accepted into a 9 month dietetic internship (unpaid). If this is something you want to pursue, you really have to want to commit to the time - homework, studying, volunteer or paid work related to dietetics which will help get you into an internship. You also have to realize that the majority of internships are unpaid and can last from 6 to 12 months depending on where you go. There are some nutrition programs that offer degrees with the internship either spaced out within that time or attached at the end of the program. Another thing you want to consider is that by January 1, 2024, the CDR (Commission on Dietetic Registration) will require a graduate degree before you can sit for the RD exam.

New subscriber💕 I’m still going to a community college but I do want to go into a dietitian program when I go to a 4 year and I was wondering if you had any advice? Like if you could do your whole 4 years over what would you keep the same and what would you change

Hi Lyndi! I am a future Dietitian (internship is this August). In your opinion and experience, do you think having a certification as a Personal Trainer is an advantage for becoming a Sports Dietitian? As well as possibly an advantage for being a Clinical Dietitian? I would assume it only gives an advantage for Sports Dietitians, and even possibly not because one sports Dietitian I watched had mostly experiences/responsibilities in Food Service, and 1-on-1 counseling. Let me know. Thank you!
