Watching your video struck a chord for me...I recently sold my mother's home in NC. She passed in late 2020, and I had a lot of mixed emotions letting it go as she was born and raised in western NC and was living on family land when she passed, but family members assured me that it was time to let it go and move on (especially since my husband and I are raising 2 special needs grandkids in SC). It is always important to keep pieces from our past, but ultimately life goes on (as it is supposed to) and we have to move forward. Love your apartment!

What a cute apartment. You did so well decorating it. The only thing I would of done differently is I liked seeing the closet doors verses the curtains hanging in front of them. To me it just looked like it made the room look so much smaller. My favorite was the balcony. So awesome.

@@marycosgrove1587 Thank you!:) Yes, the balcony is such a gem! Well, honestly in person it helps makes the space feel less busy and clean line. Also, you can’t really tell from the video, but half of the couch faces directly in front of the closet doors. I really didn’t like sitting to watch tv and looking directly at those big doors, too distracting. So we went with a curtain very close to the color of the wall and my couch:)

I think it’s right in the entryway…across from the mirror. You will notice a door next to the pretty brass rail where she hangs bags and stuff. Size of that wall seems about right for a bathroom. It also puts it right next to the water source, pipes for the kitchen etc.

Love your style. Simple yet so elegant and comfortable. I love being surrounded by the things I love: photos, music and I love the viola. I am a violinist and know that wooden instruments need 50% humidity or the pegs will pop out and the other strings will not stay in tune. Do you have a case for the viola? That will put in in more control of the humidity level. How about a small table top humidifier? I have 4 of them scattered around my small apartment due to the 50 plants that out of control. LOL and my violin is inside a case. That room I keep at 60% humidity. Congratulations on this lovely space.

I watch a lot of Cash Jordan's vids where he tours box apartments like this and I can never imagine how anyone could live in one. It's super impressive how you've furnished and decorated the place. That balcony is huge and I think I would chug many beers and munch many pizzas there. Maybe it's a delicate question, but do you have to share a bathroom with other apartments?

Chuck: That looks like a full apartment. By the way, those rooms that realtors try to pass off as apartments are not apartments. If it doesn't have a kitchen and bathroom, it is not an apartment. It is a room for rent. There are just too many people renting in NYC with skyrocketing rents that it's quite common for people to share and just have a room.
