​@@YorgosL1 What do you mean by "hold him"? Sono is walking free. This trial is about Sono suing Yuki. In Japanese law, defamation works even if subject is true. There won't be direct "evidence" when you sexually assault someone in a locked room by the way. That does not mean he was innocent. There are too many actresses who voiced sexual assault from him, not just Chiba Mira who committed suicide. You can believe whatever you want, but stop spreading BS like "it was debunked" out of your wish.

As you might know, on March 7, BBC will air a documentary to expose a scandal on the late owner of one of the top talent agencies for his dispecable sexual behavior on young boy actors. Japanese media have known about it for long time, but they hide it because they did not want jeopordise the relationship with the talent agency. Sexual harassments by directors and talent agencies are highly known, too. But media there have hardly addressed. Japanese entertainment indusrty is rotten to the core and this is just a tip of the iceberg. You see on youtube, a grassroots movement like Justice for Haruma Miura to address a string (8 or more) of deaths of Japanese actors from mid 2020 to the summer of 2022.

i love mr sono work and I will always watch his films. I don’t believe all the allegations and believe that they are false information. even if it’s true to you but it won’t change about what I think of sono movies. I hope he continue to make movies and let these false charge be dismiss !

I hope the allegations aren’t true as well… but it’s really hard not to look past them since many MANY figures in Japan’s film industry have come forth and acknowledged that Sono has had a very LONG history of sexually abusing his lead actresses. One actor (Tak Sakaguchi) whom worked with Sono even confirmed he was associated with an assault (done by Sono) that happened about 10 years ago. Look, it’s ok to separate the art from the artist… but you should always keep in mind that everything that has come out against the guy could potentially be true… I mean, the fact that there’s allegations in the first place… That being said… the man is very talented and up until these allegations, he was honestly one of my favourite filmmakers… I’ll most likely still continue to watch my favourites from him like “Love Exposure,” “Why Don’t You Play in Hell,” or “Noriko’s Dinner Table” to name a few because they’re genuinely GREAT films and would highly recommend them… I just don’t think supporting the guy himself is the right thing to do, especially when being vocal about it!

@@aaronshouting588 I rather just wait and keep up to date with this situation. he was never proven guilty in court. sono has a trial court date last month but nothing happen. he did sued the articles a couple month ago for inaccurate information and sued the guy that make this video for defamation. I believe it when I see proof if he guilty because if he really is guilty then it would be make publicly and I’m sure he would have sentence in jail but that’s not the case as he still walk free. famous people get accused all the time for anything. I rather not believe anything until everything come to light. it doesn’t matter how many accusation they got but that’s just because you famous so I’m not gonna trust anyone until everything settle in court. I remember when someone like Tom hanks was being hated on because of some a leaked about him being involved with Epstein but yet that was debunked. same with Johnny depp … people thought he beat his wife but until video / evidence / audio start to came out then it’s the opposite of what we see. nic cage has ran into some weird stuff in his life if you take a look into it but never was proven anything. in the end anyone famous can get accused of a bunch of thing so i as a viewer just rather waited and decide for the court because sono has defend himself I don’t think it’s right to held someone like sono because of some allegation that never proven. Not letting him make anymore films is a terrible thing for his fans who have nothing to do with it. yet people like Polanski , woody Allen , Kevin spacey who are 10000x worst than sono still get their film finance even in 2022.

let's wait and see, but my personal belief goes to this guy. I love watching Sion Sono films, growing up they are my favorites. I love how Mr. Sono Sion always depicts the pain and also joy of being a woman in a lot of his film. There are many borderline sexual scenes but the artistic nature and the message is very clear in his movies. However, it is not unknown that the Filming industries in Japan is corrupted by sexual predators. And someone as huge as Sono Sion could allegedly be one of them. Having multiple accusations from former actors and co workers is enough to proof. At this point, what worries me is that these people are not as well-funded as Mr. Sono Sion. In a corrupted industries, the truth rarely gets out. I personally have known some sexual assault cases where victims get blamed and punished way more than the accused for even speaking up. Even outside of Japan, there are many countries struggling with such injustice. It pains me that someone who make films about the struggle of sexual traumas would actually prey on these actors sexually. In the end, he does make very good movies. I love his movies. But I will not tolerate his behavior according to these accusations.
