My father and uncle saved up their grass cutting money and with a little help from my grandparents bought one in their early teens. When my sister, cousins and I got old enough to learn to ride my father pulled it out of the shed and got it running for us. Some of my favorite childhood memories were riding 2 up hitting jumps on my grandparents farm on that gold CT 70. Your father does amazing work!

Awesome and great timing for me! I just purchased a 74 CT70 from a buddy including the title. I already have an incomplete bike to use for parts (that I also want to get that running someday as well). I plan on making it my scout bike for the back of my truck while off-roading.

Pretty darn cool TFL. I like the charity series when they are possible. Thanks!! The motors generally are simple, much easier than most think. I grew up riding Suzuki RM125s. I was a little guy 155lbs and didn’t need the 250s most of my friends rode. I was rebuilding that motor often enough (a known trait) and eventually I switch to Honda CRs with the liquid cooling. Never ever rebuilt the 125 until a few years ago!! It had sat a looonngg time and then my brother started riding it for fun and not long after he started riding it, the engine crapped out. It had about 23,000 km as per the Speedo we had on it. Not too bad!! The parts were easy to get and once I showed up to help, all I did was help put the bike back together!! We used many new parts doing that as well, an replica of the original seat, etc. it looks relatively new, but is a 1984 model,,,,. He rides it like he stole it and the bike doesn’t show any reason not to keep riding it that way. He is only about 170 lbs so definitely not too heavy for the bike. He talks about the trail 70s but is too cheap to buy any at the prices they now command,,,,. Maybe a birthday present for him. If I find one I think he would like,,,,, hot pink, yellow seat,,, sky blue grips,,,,😂😂😂 like that!!! Hahaha.

You guys should check out the 1977 Yamaha Champ LB80-3D! It was one of the competitors to this bike back in its day. It ultimately failed and is now a very rare bike.
