the issue is rappers like little simz don't have that commercial sound like central cee even if she is leagues above him interms of discography and the best uk rappers like her are already years+albums deep into their career so xxl won't ever be for them. I love that even without america my favourite uk rappers able to tour the world because other countries realise how good the quality output is.

The more I have to see the backlash against these lists every year, the more I kinda get numb to it. I still enjoy XXL cause ultimately the amiri videos I get out of them are enjoyable and for the past 5 years that I've been following the lists, the fulfillment of either laughing at a rapper sucking or head boppin at a rapper going off has never really gone away. Like idk what people even expect from these anymore😂 each year basically since the birth of this shit, rappers have sucked or they gotta put guys/gals on there most people don't know (althought it has admittedly gotten worse over time)

Dc got a couple styles though. He has like the heavy autotune singing like Funeral and the songs you mentioned. But he also has agressive rage type music like the first half of "My Own Worst Enemy". Then he also does rock influenced songs like "Ghost Rider" and "Jesus Cant Save You". He's incredibly diverse and has some stuff for everyone imo.
