Watching you and your skills gives me a goal, and maybe I'll take up racing as a motivation to reach those goals, though I really can't afford to injure myself since I'm a land surveyor and need mobility for my job. You are the epitome of the idea that if you envision what you want for your life and really work hard towards it, you can create it. Awesome video Jeff, you're the real deal!! I've really enjoyed watching you're videos since I subscribed!! Going from BMX to MTB is a typical route from what I've heard. I mainly do it as a hobby and an attempt to keep myself in shape!...LOL!
@JeffKendallWeed5 жыл бұрын
Norbert, moto to MTB works great as well! Though that can be a slightly different style that manipulates the bike a little less, and the moto guys usually ride real far forwards on the bike. I ride way off the back of the bike. Some of the skate board dudes have a cool MTB style, getting up real high and pushing the bike around!

What ties it all together is my love for nature, which I also get to pursue in my job as a conservation biologist.

Thanks for the video. I'm a mtb'er with a few years of experience, still beginner level so I subscribe to most of the mtb channels. This story was a good idea cause it shows what you want to do with the channel and I think you're going to have a lot of success. You're a killer rider, of course, but I just thought you were like an Ibis "influencer" or something before. This was a cool story.👍 Been watching Nate Hills and decided to check out your videos. Awesome you work at Ibis! HD4 is my dream bike. I demoed one last year and it felt great with my rheumatoid arthritis. I want to get one before I can no longer ride. I've been riding since the early 90's before they had suspension. I will soon, now to a few years, have an elbow replacement. After that, I will never be able to ride again.☹ I'm hoping to get my dream bike and have my last years of riding be a good one. For now, I cannot afford one. Awesome you have the Ripmo and HD4. Glad you are such a vocal person for biking.
@JeffKendallWeed5 жыл бұрын
Thanks RA! I worked at Ibis- I left the company in 2015 to manage international sales at WTB, which I did for 3 years before stepping back and spending more time with the family. Ibis and WTB both kept me on as a sponsored rider, which is AWESOME as I really enjoy the stuff those guys make. Man, sorry to hear about the elbow issues. That's gotta be really tough. I wonder if you could still ride a fairly upright bike with a short top tube on mellower trails? And honestly, there's more to life than biking. We all love it, indeed, but none of us will be able to ride forever. If I ever have a massive injury and can't continue riding, my plan is to put that energy into continued filmmaking and playing mandolin. Anyhow, thanks again for the note!
@chameleonpogono5 жыл бұрын
@@JeffKendallWeed Yah. I know nobody can ride forever, just would be nice to ride longer than I will be able to. I thought the same thing about a bike where I can sit more upright. The surgeon was holding an iPad and said that is the most weight I should put on the joint. So, any jarring will exceed that. I could still hike and backpack, which are things I like to do. So, that is good. Sounds like you have a fun and fulfilling life!👍
