Doc said only things he wanted me to do after surgery was walk, swim, or ride a bike. Ride on! I am now waiting for my new Nomad lrg to come in at my local shop! Good story Sir! I loved it!

You're an inspiration for me. I've gotten into mountain biking a little late and I'm not much for racing, but I love the lifestyle. Watching you and your skills gives me a goal, and maybe I'll take up racing as a motivation to reach those goals, though I really can't afford to injure myself since I'm a land surveyor and need mobility for my job. You are the epitome of the idea that if you envision what you want for your life and really work hard towards it, you can create it. Hoping to make a stop in Bellingham in May and also later in the summer on my way up to BC. Hope to run into you on the trails.

Awesome video Jeff, you're the real deal!! I've really enjoyed watching you're videos since I subscribed!! Going from BMX to MTB is a typical route from what I've heard. I mainly do it as a hobby and an attempt to keep myself in shape!...LOL!
@JeffKendallWeed

Norbert, moto to MTB works great as well! Though that can be a slightly different style that manipulates the bike a little less, and the moto guys usually ride real far forwards on the bike. I ride way off the back of the bike. Some of the skate board dudes have a cool MTB style, getting up real high and pushing the bike around!

Thanks for sharing your inspiring story Jeff! You've got your priorities straight. It sure is family first here too (my boy turns 3 in May, the 2nd kid is due in August), with mountain biking and all other aspects of mountain sports (backcountry skiing, mountaineering and hiking, a little bit of climbing and via ferrata) a close second. Thanks for the video. I'm a mtb'er with a few years of experience, still beginner level so I subscribe to most of the mtb channels. Sometimes it's cause of the character, sometimes for the content, sometimes the message of the channel. This story was a good idea cause it shows what you want to do with the channel and I think you're going to have a lot of success. You're a killer rider, of course, but I just thought you were like an Ibis "influencer" or something before. This was a cool story.👍 Been watching Nate Hills and decided to check out your videos. Awesome you work at Ibis! HD4 is my dream bike. I demoed one last year and it felt great with my rheumatoid arthritis. I want to get one before I can no longer ride. I've been riding since the early 90's before they had suspension. I will soon, now to a few years, have an elbow replacement. After that, I will never be able to ride again.☹ I'm hoping to get my dream bike and have my last years of riding be a good one. For now, I cannot afford one. Awesome you have the Ripmo and HD4. Glad you are such a vocal person for biking.

Thanks RA! I worked at Ibis- I left the company in 2015 to manage international sales at WTB, which I did for 3 years before stepping back and spending more time with the family. Ibis and WTB both kept me on as a sponsored rider, which is AWESOME as I really enjoy the stuff those guys make. Man, sorry to hear about the elbow issues. That's gotta be really tough. I wonder if you could still ride a fairly upright bike with a short top tube on mellower trails? And honestly, there's more to life than biking. We all love it, indeed, but none of us will be able to ride forever. If I ever have a massive injury and can't continue riding, my plan is to put that energy into continued filmmaking and playing mandolin. Anyhow, thanks again for the note!

@@JeffKendallWeed Yah. I know nobody can ride forever, just would be nice to ride longer than I will be able to. I thought the same thing about a bike where I can sit more upright. The surgeon was holding an iPad and said that is the most weight I should put on the joint. So, any jarring will exceed that. I could still hike and backpack, which are things I like to do. So, that is good. Sounds like you have a fun and fulfilling life!👍

Thanks Scott! I can't believe I'm in the position I am now, but honestly I wouldn't have been ready for it had it happened any earlier. Nate's a rad dude and a good friend, go Nate!!!

Jeff, you deserve 500k more subscribers. You're definitely one of my fav riders and youtubers. Have you thought about working with NICA to help get the younger generation on bikes?

Not sure who is the one person who disliked this video. But really? I mean come on how can you not like the infectious positive attitude towards life and biking that Kendall-weed promotes. It's an inspiration watching you ride, and I love the content you create. Keep up the great work.

Thanks Victor! I'm not so much hoping for more followers or anything, I just wanna do what I can to help the sport sustain! When my daughter, and the rest of the next generation, grow up, I hope they can have the opportunity to live the same type of life style that I've enjoyed!

Jeff, very interesting video and I'm glad I watched it! It filled in a huge chunk of knowledge about you that I had no idea of prior thereto. I really didn't know anything about you and just happened to be impressed with your riding skills when I saw you riding in Sedona on The Hangover Trail in Nate Hills video. That was my first brush with your riding and thereafter I found and subscribed to your KZbin channel. You have quite an impressive track record of riding and maintaining your passion! Great video ... Keep up the great work!

Thanks man!!! No way- I remember than N* enduro! I was still a little hesitant, and bike parks have always been difficult for me to race well at. Man, N* is SOOOO dusty these days- oh wait, it's always been like that lol!
