Resources from the Western Region is used to cater for a greater percentage of the whole Ghana yet it is the most uncared for, underserved and underdeveloped. We are shortchanged all the time and the region keeps moving backwards. Unemployment and poverty are on the rise. All the industries that were operating in the Sekondi-Takoradi environs when we were kids (Cocoa Processing, Paper Conversion, Pioneer Tobacco, John Bitar, Subin, Ghana Railways) have all collapsed. Most of our very busy places have become ghost towns. When Baba Adam is showing the state of roads in Sekondi-Takoradi, just watch the number of people on the street and tears will roll down your cheeks. May God help us.
