It gets quite expensive if you want to do the prep work and painting on your own vehicle that face mask and that breathing apparatus is $2,700 and then you have to consider the devices using to sand down the roof to metal maybe chemical stripping is the best option and using rustoleum truck bed liner on my 28-year-old Ford van roof that's probably not even worth the cost of all the equipment needed to do it your way used vehicles prices are going through the roof so you have to fix what you have or learn to take long walks to where you have to go The only positive thing that happened to me in the last two and a half years I'm not a homeless vet anymore US Vet 1966 to 1968

Hey looks like I have same issues on removing paint and decals from hood and roof except my hood had this really thick pin stripe ran In the grooves of the hood on both sides, this is my question.What would you suggest using to get my hood down to bare metal,because the paint is like chipped off in some spots and looks like the hood has quarter inch of several different colors of paint.If you don’t suggest any chemicals to remove old paint, what grit sandpaper to remove all old paint off down to bare. Thank you

Crumb catcher 5588 paint remover/ brake fluid but sand paper 40-80 grit til you get primer/ bare metal 100 grit and up

AJ MIG it is harbor freight spray gun the most expensive one they got. It’s pretty much a harbor freight paint job and the paint is Omni brand

@@rickysgarage4036 thanks so much for that information. They have a couple of purple sprayers, the most expensive one is their Central Pneumatic 20 oz HVLP gravity feed with regulator for $29.99, is that it? It did an awesome job! Great times with pops!!!!

What up your pops did want to shoot you any clear coats on your truck?...you can totally tell when you are thanking your pops for the work...that whole driver side looks like shit and its blurry...thsts messed up cause you really cant complain cause Im guessing all that was on the house?..or am I wrong in my assumption?
