This doesn’t make much sense: if the parents had their phones off until 6am why would they have come to the hospital at night? They wouldn’t have known about the accident until the morning. So “Lucas has a rough night” makes no sense!

I would have held onto them and when they show up give it back. Tell them you don't want them and you know they didn't LOVE you. You just don't have Lucas anymore. So NOW you think I'm there for you to pick up again. You should have genuinely wanted to many years ago. You never paid any attention when I was young. You never got the presents I WANTED. You spent tons on him and nothing on me. You just threw me away as a kid doing the bare minimum. You werent there for me when I was scared! I needed my mom and dad while I was hurt and scared in that crumpled up car in the cold night. You never showed up because of Lucas. I could have died and you were too busy with an upset Lucas. You lost me too many years ago.
