In defense of OP’s father he knew OP was going into tech and had his own dreams and aspirations that didn’t include the family business and thought he’d have more time to teach Kyle responsibility and benefits of working hard and running a business. Why try to convince OP to abandon his own dreams while there was another child with no dreams at all he can mold into his replacement while OP pursues his own plans and builds his own fortune?! I think the father’s plan to pass the business to Kyle made perfect logical sense right up until he was brain damaged in the accident and OP left his tech career to pick up the business before it fell, and it was kind of late to fix it then…
