Pity her grandparents didn’t take her in earlier but then there wouldn’t have been a story

If the father said you're no longer our daughter. Why would he then call and say I can't walk you down the aisle? That's stupid.
@susanhansen1290Ай бұрын
She should have recognized her grandparents were the family who cared about her and cut off her parents when she went to live with the grandparents.

"We made a mistake. We just realized that our only REAL daughter is actually trying to work things out with you, and is making us look bad for disowning you. Can you forgive us for always beeing crappy people and not ever loving you? Oh, and while you're at it, can you loan us $100K?" Usually parents like that trying to get back in good with a child they hate are doing it because they need money.

She should have said "Thanks, but i have moved on. You all should move on too". Leopard's dont change their dpots. Neither do people. They will probably tell her husband he chose the wrong daighter and Sophia would be better for him and Sophia will agree. I wouldn't give them that opportunity. Sophia probably needs money to start her own business and figures sis can help. No thanks. Dad disowned her thats the end. Let it stand. She has her own family now she no longer needs them. All this lovey dovey family is crap! She shouldn't touch them with somebody elses to put it bluntly.

OP ought to tell Sophia that, in order to be loved, you have to treat people well, and not be mean.

If Olivia's parents had treated her and Sophia she wouldn't have told the nurse and CPS.

I believe there is a misunderstanding. The claim that the parents made a mistake is so insulting. Willful neglect and abuse can not be forgiven. They must change at their core, a real change of heart. Oh the list goes on with the same care and concern that Olivia was meticulously separated. This exclusion was a religious indictment. The Holy Altar was cleansed and she excommunicated. And someone says “ ah shucks, do over”. Let us see the Pilgrimage. Let us hear the weeping and anguish. Let us attend one of their funerals. Then maybe next time!

Yes! The idea of just brushing it off as a ‘misunderstanding’ is laughable when the consequences are so severe. Change starts with acknowledgment, not excuses. 🙏

This story just dragged on and on. The overuse of imagery has led to verbose and overwrought writing with a very weak ending.

I kept expecting a reason. (Not that it would be acceptable but still.) Like Child 2 was a product of rape or was taken in after someone died. Some reason??!

This felt incomplete and rushed towards the end with no explanations on the volte face that the sister and parents did. This story is like a rehash of another, very similar one I read, but without the death of the grandfather and the laboratory inheritance.

Sometimes these stories just drive me nuts. I get that some people are what people consider to be doormats. Just keep going through the same cycle. I get that. But when you're out for years, seeing that you can be happy without them around bringing you down, and then allow them to treat you like crap without speaking up, you're no longer a doormat, you're an idiot and I just can't have sympathy for you. Doormats at least are unable to bring up strength because no one has ever held them up before. I can understand that. But you've got people taking care of you but you keep longing for the ones who don't? Just no.
