I don't understand how the man died. But I pray you are doing better now. If not, I pray you overcome this grief. It was not your fault.

I think it was spinal cord injury ... because he felt no other pain (except abdomen) and he involuntarily urinated...history of fall ...

back when i was in training over a year ago ive had a somewhat (more obvious cardiac arrest) similar situation where she died in my arms aswell. It was a 50yo with COPD with breathing sifficulties. we immediatly started 15L oxygen and CombiVent. also called the emergency doctor for backup. she died crying like a child for her mommy in front of her son. had to wait with her on our stretcher after a failed recussitation for over 2 hours. shit happens man, youll never forget those calls but you just have to live with them! hopefully you got over it...

I’m not sure what service or region you are from, but aren’t you supposed to check an unresponsive patients carotid pulse, for presence only, before you move on to airway and breathing. The average patient can survive up to 20 mins with the amount of oxygen in their bloodstream on a normal day but can survive waaaay below that elapsed time if said oxygen is not being circulated to vital organs. Therefore establishing the presence, or lack there of, of a pulse is more important than airway or breathing. That can be done subsequently and in a timely manner, but surely it’s first a pulse check and then CPR and rhythm analysis. After that is done, of course a good airway and ventilation will be immediate priorities. Sorry to nit pick. It might be different in different regions or countries.
