Have you reset the bios? Also, if the board has difficulty running multicore workloads and it is this old some capacitors could be under value. That can cause instability on multicore loads. Good luck!

I had my PC fail to boot recently due to a fauly RGB controller that i have all fans attached to, then plugged into the motherboard. One little box prevented my entire PC from turning on completely, almost like i had no power plugged in at all from the wall. I took the time to reattach everything with a new RGB controller as well as repaste my CPU, everything worked fine afterwards.

sounds like psu problems. Do you have a multimeter handy? you could also try pulling out cmos battery

I had to update the bios on my b660 MB in order to get my gpu to read in Windows. It would display during startup and bios, but once Windows loads it would black screen. My gpu is a 6650xt.

It must definitely be the power supply, probably the power supply isn't providing enough wattage to keep the pc running without crashing
@Anon66214

If you can get it working for awhile, go in and factory reset your bios. DO NOT try to update your bios with an unstable machine. If the update is interrupted for any reason, you're pretty much guaranteed to brick your motherboard. Some motherboards have a light or 7 segmented display that flashes error codes, so look for something like that and try to cross reference it with your motherboards documentation. That should be able to give you a clue as to what the issue is. Try reinstalling your gpu and using the display outputs on it. Also try all of the display outs on your motherboard if that's not working. You could also try to charge something from one of the usb ports to see if they're receiving any power. Let the computer rest for awhile to cool down and then try again if none of that works. If the paste on your cpu has gone bad, its possible that your cpu is just thermal throttling repeatedly because you're not giving it time to rest. Its probably not your psu that's bad, nor your gpu. It could be the ram, cpu, or motherboard. You could also have a bad connector somewhere.

Your storage could also be an issue. You could try to boot off a flash drive to determine if that's the problem or not.

I know that my storage was almost full but it’s been that way for a while I don’t believe my cpu is overheating because it was running good temps last time it was on. I’m getting power to the usb ports but no display when the gpu is seated it doesn’t spin up or give any display although before it completely died I was getting a display out of my gpu without my fans running which are supposed to run as soon as it powered on

It could be a bad power supply, as that same restart sequence has been experienced by people who eneded up having underpowered power supplys.

Another thing you can try, altho I'm not too sure how much it will help, is to reset the cmos. Take the little coin cell cmos battery out for about 30 seconds, then put it back in and try booting it again. You'd honestly be surprised what doing something as simple as that will fix

@@layneschristmascollection8389 Hmm. Do you have the funds for a new mobo, because rewatching the vid, it sounds like your issues are stemming for the motherboard. These days you can get a new in box B450 motherboard for less than $80 which can honestly be cheaper than a repair shop charge

I could suggest a few reasons as to why it is not running, based on the issues my first ever gaming computer had: - Bad cmos battery. - Probably try changing ram slots. - Bad power supply or ram (if you did what i said before and nothing happened) If you used to constantly do overclocking on cpu, might be a reason.
@layneschristmascollection8389

I will end up testing the voltage on the cmos battery but I did take it out for a few minutes I have another ram stuck I know works so I’ll try it but I did swap around my ram that I use with no change. I’ve never overclocked the cpu so I don’t think that’s an issue and it could be a bad power supply but I’m not to sure
@admiralagk922
@admiralagk922 11 ай бұрын
@@layneschristmascollection8389 alright, if its only the cmos, it's a pretty easy fix. About the ram, if there was no change after you swapped before, then i guess ram is ok. Also nice that you do not overclock your CPU, i did it once one time just as a test and my CPU (that wasn't that good at that time) got damaged beyond repair. Anyways, hope you get your pc fixed! And sorry if my english wasn't good enough, english is not my first language.

As you can see in the comments, multiple parts could be the culprit. You will have to eliminate them by replacing them one by one. Easiest would be taking out one ram stick, check if it works , then try the other. Mainboard should be last, because it takes the most effort to take out and reinstall. For other parts, like cpu, gpu, psu and mainboard and storage, you will need a replacememt. Maybe you know someone who has a similar pc and would lend their parts to check. Make sure the cpu fits your mainboard. To be honest: finding a repair shop which has these parts and can find the mistake is not a bad idea. Just ask what they want for checking the pc. You can still replace the faulty part yourself to save a buck. Last but not least: DO NOT UPDATE THE BIOS if the system hasn't run stable for a few days. Good luck!
