Still moves me to tears. My wife along with the Canadian Military Wives Choirs across Canada sang. As an injured Veteran from service this makes my proud to have been apart of the CAF and it honours not only the ones who competed in the games but also the ones who we said farewell to.

I was singing in the choir that evening and it was such an amazing, overwhelming and emotional time for all of us. Every single one of us was beyond impressed at Laura’s professionalism, warmth, kindness, beauty and unbelievable talent. We were so honoured to be singing the beautiful song, “Invincible”, she had written for the athletes and we worked very hard for months do justice to the music and lyrics and to make her proud of us. She was so wonderful to us all and she truly is a beautiful soul whose song brought tears to our eyes on MANY occasions, including that day. Thank you Laura Wright! It was an experience we will never forget. I also must note that a HUGE reason it all came together so well for the choirs was because of the incredible talent of our Invictus Choir Director, Wendy Nixon Stothert from Comox, BC. She was able to take close to 200 women from 10 different choirs from all across Canada and seamlessly merge us together into one massive voice, in 6 part harmony, in just a few hours of practice one day prior to our 5 minutes of fame. I heard many of the women from other choirs declaring that she had taught them more about singing in the few hours we had together, than they had learned the entire year before! Thank you Wendy for your bright, shining soul and ever smiling face that always makes us want to learn.

We sung this at the 100 year world war 2 rememberance servise and there was like flood beneath me we sang it then made a. Gap then we sang the poem Flanders fields Song Lalalalallalal In Flanders fields The Poppy’s grow between the crosses Row on row That mark our place And in the sky the larks still bravely singing Fly Scarce heard amongst the guns below We are the DEAD Short days ago WE lived FELT dawn SAW sunset glow LOVED and WERE loved And now we lie in Flanders fields Lallalalalallalalallalalallala Take up your quarrel and your foe From failing hands we throw the torch Be YOURS to hold it high If ye break faith with us who die We SHALL NOT SLEEP though Poppy’s grow in Flanders fields Lallalalalllalalvictoryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
