Friday the 13th Jason lives and final chapter are easily the best. The original is not a good movie at all. Bad acting,outdated kills,horrible frame shots and phony cat fight at the end. I get it’s the original but that does not save it from the critics in my opinion.

Yes! Jason Lives is my favorite. It brought Jason back better and stronger. Invincible and could not be killed. All the Friday the 13th movies are classics.

We don’t want to see crying Jason we want to see hockey mask Jason. They also giving us a Halloween series starting over and going back to the second Halloween movie. I hope these shows deliver.

I am a horror fanatic and love the 1st 4 films with all my heart I just was introduced to friday the 13th basically in order as a young kid my brother stole all the vhs tapes from Hollywood Video when he was a teenager 🤣 and he showed them to me with part 1 being the 1st and and same with halloween and elm street

I love the original 6 but after that they really take a dive. 4 and 6 are my favorites but 1 and 3 are great as well. Used to have sleepovers as a teen and marathon them.

I don't know if you've even see a movie from 1976 called "The town that dreaded sundown". It's a true story about a serial killer from Texas in the 1940's, and he wore a white sack over his head just like Jason in Friday the 13th part 2. I wondered if that story was the inspiration for the Jason character. I thought about Jason the whole time I watched it. I would recommend it to any Jason fan because it's so similar. There is also a remake from a few years ago. I even saw a documentary about how a serial killer from Europe wore a hockey mask, and inspired the Friday the 13th series. Maybe both stories were the basis for the movies.

I tend to see Jason movies in 2 categories. Some are pure Jason where it's just him with the hockey mask. They include parts ,3,4,6,7 and 8. But the other type are different. Part 1 is about Jason's mom, and in part 2 he wore a bag over his head. Part 5 had an imposter Jason. In part 9 he was possessing other bodies. Part 10 was more of a sci-fi movie. Freddy v. Jason would also fit into the second category.

Im a 100% pure horror fan and most people think im crazy cause the original is my favorite and oh I hate jason blah blah noooo I just connect with the original more then anything else it was the 1st one i ever saw as a young kid and I tend to lean towards the original in most cases haha

@@live2fishrourke35 I know mate. I don’t understand how it’s often low on many peoples ranking. It has the best suspense, atmosphere and creepiness, all that is vital for a horror film. Only 2&4 come close. 6 is fun and entertaining for sure but I can never understand why so many have it as their favourite. It’s self aware and comedic and ridiculous.

I agree about Crazy Ralph, he's one of the best side horror characters ever. I don't know if you knew that the actor who played Ralph recently passed away (March 5th). Great ranking video. Original.,Betsy Palmer gives my favourite performance (equal with Ginny from pt2) 6. Part 7 (guilty pleasure) 5. Part 3 4. Part 5 3. Remake 2. Part 2 1. Part 4 1-3 for me are interchangeably my favourite's I'd give them between 3.5-4 stars each

For some reason I enjoyed Jason Goes To Hell as a kid, but I don't enjoy it as an adult (for the very same reasons most people don't like the movie) E.g. he's hardly in the film and I don't care for the body snatcher element. Also, now that you mention it, I didn't dig Jason's new look either, and the fact that you could hear him when he's being shot at the beginning (he's already zombie Jason at that point)....was a bit stupid I thought. The Freddy tease at the end was so hype as a kid though and I'm not even a Freddy fan. I saw Jason X at the theater and I enjoyed parts of it even though It's not a great Jason film. The crowd was definitely rowdy so that probably helped. I felt really let down by the Friday the 13th remake as well, but I was even more disappointed by Freddy vs Jason. The only way I was able to get through F vs J at the cinema is because of how wild that crowd was. I loved The New Blood as a kid and even as an adult, but I completely understand why people wouldn't like it! I just wish they didn't have to cut back on a lot of the kills because of how graphic they were. Jason also looked amazing in New Blood! For me, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is probably the best entry. The New Blood and Jason Lives are up there as well. Jason Takes Manhattan....for all the problems that film had, I can never get past that ending. What were they thinking?

Ya, If only I could find other locals who enjoy those films as much as I do. I've spent over 500 hours playing the Friday the 13th game on PC... It was fun while it lasted. They actually filmed part of Jason Takes Manhattan at Britannia Beach (where they boarded the boat) which is only a 15 minute drive from where I grew up. I also lived in Vancouver close to where they filmed the alleyway scenes. Always funny when studios pretend something takes place elsewhere but as a local you can easily see it was filmed where you live....kinda takes you out of the movie a bit! Now that the lawsuit between Miller and Cunningham is over, I really hope we get a new Friday the 13th movie sooner rather than later. There's no reason not to since the remake made a lot of money and It's not like they're difficult films to make! While they probably wouldn't do it, I'd love to see another 80's themed Jason film. For me, there was something really off about the remake/reboot but I've never been able to figure out why I don't care for it. You're probably aware of the TV series called "Crystal Lake" that's in the works. Supposed to release sometime in 2024, but if not, you might want to take a peek since you enjoy the first film the most. Hope It's good. @@live2fishrourke35

@fennec7906 that's so cool man I'm not a gamer really at all I get confused with video games haha but I watched a lot of videos of the game for sure the last few years and ya I wish I had more freinds into it like I was my toolbox at work is covered with horror and Star Wars and the lady's in the office think im nuts. And my wife can tolerate horror but knows I can get really nuts and over emotional haha...and yes I'm ready for crystal lake and hope they take there time and smooth everything out and it can do what bates motel did for Psycho...im cautious but optimistic at the same time hahaha. I'm just here trying to have fun cause I really appreciate the hard work the big horror channels have done over the last 5-10 years. And there like my Saturday morning cartoons hahaha

Great ranking, but im not the biggest fan of the original. Its ok but i much prefer parts 4,6 and 7. I love kane hodder as jason in part 7. It may not be the best movie but imo its the best jason.

Aww while I agree Jason Goes to Hell is the worst, Jason X is in my top 3. Its just so silly and fun, while at the same time keeping Jason himself awesome. Definitely better then 9 and 8. Part 5 is high up on my list too. And I skip part 1, simply for the real life snake killing in the movie. I always make sure to do a Friday the 13th movie marathon every year.

My older brother was very, very hardcore. On the original films and that's how he kind of groomed me. A consider him… Myers Jason, hiding in the shadows, watching from a distance until revealing himself and what I consider the best chase scene in the franchise. Jason vs Chris. Don’t even get me started on the dream sequence of Jason looking at Chris through the bedroom window and charging at her. Oof. 😅 Most of my rankings are based on nostalgia feels. This was the first franchise I watched as a kid. I was 6 and remember watching them alot on USA network and Syfy. Particularly part 3, Lives, New Blood and Manhattan were always aired more.

They’ll have a one or a couple of serious movies, but then the sequels become more cheesy 😅 Richard Brooker and Ted White are top tier. Yes unfortunate for Kane. Well here's my ranking I do love my Friday the 13th movies. 12 Jason takes Manhattan or should really be called Jason takes a boat to Vancouver. 11 for me would have to be Jason goes to hell it just didn't feel like a Friday the 13th movie to me. 10 Freddy versus Jason only reason why I'm raking it like this is because it feels more like a nightmare on elm Street movie then a Friday the 13th. movie. 9 Friday the 13th 3D I mean I like the fact that Jason gets his hockey mask and there was a couple good kills in this movie but the special effects were horrible and the acting was terrible.8 Friday the 13th part 5 the beginning this had quite a few problems but there are more forgiving than the other movies. The one character I really do like in this movie was little Reggie. 7 Jason x Kane hodder did a really good job one of the best kills in the franchise was in this movie.6 Friday the 13th the new blood I think this was the best performance of Kane hodder as Jason but I think this would have moved up higher if the kills were not water down. 5 the og the original Friday the 13th it started it all it's a classic in some weird way I think Pamela Voorhees is more scary than Jason.4 Friday the 13th part 2 everything they did in the original they did a little better in this movie.3 the Friday the 13th remake I love the Jason I love everything in this movie. these to kind of go back and forth between 1 and 2 as of right now number 2 Friday the 13th part 4 the final chapter this movie was like perfect 5/5 for me and my number 1 for me is Friday the 13th part 6 Jason lives perfect another 5/5 for me.
