My rule of thumb, I never give money to men EVER. Makes no difference if they are on youtube or in the street begging. I do have a soft spot for the female with kids. But I don't make a habit of donating to the same person over and over again. Some of these female youtubers become dependent on monthly donations. I know one that built a house and bought a car just on her donations.

Thank you for the info, Steve. You're living in a low budget and help others; you're so kind and sweet with a great heart! Travelling to South East Asia countries remind me that how lucky we are in the US - having almost everything that we need (sometime don't need) - but it seems that not many people are happy with that. I would like to have my early retirement life there, in one of those countries, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia... All I need to do is to convince my husband. After the US election, we will fly to some countries in SEA for a couple months to see how it is...

Another good video bro, both of us in similar living situation. Our electric bill higher in Tarlac City. Our internet is lower with PLDT that's the medium package deal with router extenders. I usually pay cash for medical costs. My health is good no real issues yet! knock on wood they say. But like you we have savings for that. Regarding transportation costs I calculated using jeeply, tribikes or rent a vehicle or van at least 3 or 4 times per week would total over 100,000 pesos per year. With that in mind, I got a second hand car several years ago. Weather you buy a e-bike, motor bike, etc its definitely much better too have your own transportation especially is doing errands around your community. Doing long drives to vocation spots in Luzon I may drive or hire a driver and van to further destinations. Overall your video is pretty good, you gave me food for thought with Pacific Cross insurance. I may consider that. thanks again.

I really appreciate how you try to understand how the Filipinos live and interact. One Filipino characteristic is what we call "pakikisama", which means working out one's way to blend in and adapt with the norms of the people within the community. Unfortunate I see expat vloggers and members of expat groups who do not understand the social aspects of living in the Philippines which includes the Filipino soul. There are some Filipino words related to our values, culture, and traditions which have no direct English translation including "loob", "utang na loob", "sama ng loob", "sama", "tampo", "pakikisama", "hiya", "malasakit", "bayanihan", etc. lack of undertanding of these words will cause misinterpretation or misunderstanding. I hope more expats will come to understand these things such as you do. I respect you for that.

Just to add my monthly expences with out going into detail. We don't rent we own our house. We have aircon, wifi, we allocate $700AU monthly for living expences. In my area if you wanted to rent add another $125 to that figure. We go with out nothing. We are a family of four wife son nephew and my self. We just live the family life. We support the local people. We have owned our own house here now for 12 months. If you come here and live the family life and become part of the community life is good there is always some one giving vegetables because the philippines what i see is a food bowl. On Saturday and Sunday the wife cooks our lunch and enough to give to some neighbours it is the way to live. There is always a birthday party invites. My motto don't be afraid to be a little charitable it goes a long way to being accepted I to the community. The wife has a charatible heart helping the community in little ways.

We arrived home in 2017, I found the girls rinsing by hand, rather than running the cycle w/o soap! lol! Also, I'm 100% guaranteed that my boys won't be turning red, as commercial launderers don't understand, or can't/won't wash my clothes using LIQUID soap! LOL!

Thanks for sharing. You're a generous man. As for me I turned down a lovely Pinay with a child when I lived in the Philippines. I'm not comfortable with the law they have there which says that a foreigner will be automatically arrested if he is caught in public with a minor. It doesn't even matter if that minor is your girlfriend's kid, you're going to jail. The idea of paying for a single mother's kid that I could be locked up for, just for taking said kid to the mall by myself, bothers me too much to do the step dad role in the Philippines. I am not knocking you though, we are all different and there is nothing wrong with that. And I know it's damn hard to find a Pinay that doesn't have a child, probably like 3 out of 4 Pinay has at least one child in the Philippines (this number gets reduced if they are from a higher socioeconomic class, but then those kind of women tend not to date foreigners.)

Makes the day complete. Want a place with a pool? You can get one in Dumaguete for about 26k a month. That's what I'm doing. for about 6 months until my wife's beach place in Siquijor is complete. I agree with you about the 700 bucks a month though. I plan on about 20-30k a year. What's that? 2-3k a month? Yep, you're right that's the sweet spot. My wife owns a few places as well. No rent. Sounds like you have it sussed though. Great info as usual. Switch to tea dude, that Coke will rot you from the inside. Keep the dream alive, Live, Love and Do good.

This comment isn't for everyone but this is what I'm doing for future family. Going to get married and adopt her two children when I retire in April 2022. 1) Have spent around $2,500 on my clothes and shoes ahead of move to Philippines. 2) Send family $550 per month for living expenses. She uses this for house, food, and upgrades to beach house. 3) Paying dentist expenses for family, all work her and kids will be completed prior to move (root canels, fillings, and braces). 4) When I arrive in Philippines and after marriage will initially rent house, while paying for upgrades to small beach house in Sipalay.
