This is a fantastic video, Karen! It has the best and most comprehensive list for beginner colorists, and how you explain how to use the mediums is easy to understand and thorough. I am still a beginner colorist and have learned a lot from many outstanding artists on KZbin, but your work has been the most helpful, from your color along to your charts. Thank you for your beautiful art and for all you do to help the coloring community. Happy Holidays!❤️

My goodness! This video is EXCELLENT! Aside from being the definitive wish list for ourselves and our fellow colorist friends, this video is a wonderfully comprehensive overview for beginning colorists - it lays everything out so clearly without being intimidating at all. You are magnificent for doing this! Thank you Karen! 🤗❤🤗

I too love prismacolor pencils. I bought two full sets, one for me and another as a gift. They are on sale at Blick art materials for $104.00 u.s. dollars. My second favorite is polychromos pencils. Thanks for sharing your thoughts for art materials. 💕

That is a great price Lisa! So much more affordable than they are in Australia.

Karen Thank you for all your selections for gift giving. What I really appreciated were the samples shown of the ink, pens, pastels etc. on the pages you used them on.

Karen, have you ever used the pastel pencils for backgrounds? I have the FC pitt pastel pencils, I’ve yet to use them, I need to “break them in”. I know once I get the hang of it I will enjoy them and they colour match to the Polychromos and AD. Would love to see you tackle a background with them ☺️
@MyColourfulCountryLifeКүн бұрын
Ohhh I have not. The set I have is a portrait set so not really the best selection to use on backgrounds. But you may have influenced me! ❤️ I think I want the FC Pitt Pastel Pencils now!!!! I think they'd be brilliant for backgrounds. I did see them in a 60 set, do they not come in a 120 set to match the polys?
@anikrossignol8809Күн бұрын
@MyColourfulCountryLife I believe 60 is the largest format we can get. And yay! 👏🏻 I hope to see you use them some day so I can learn along side you ☺️

Last year I got 2 Hanna Karlzon books and a set of Polychromos pencils for Christmas from my mom. I'd mentioned I really wanted a complete set of them but totally didn't expect to get them. Such a wonderful gift that I use all the time and love ❤️. Prismacolors are also a great choice (much cheaper here too). I've personally asked for a smaller set of the Derwent Lightfast pencils this year as I've really loved the 4 I bought open stock (and my mom wanted Christmas gift ideas lol) and since there wouldn't be more than one repeat, I figured that would be a good idea!

Aww that's such a thoughtful gift from your mum, Hanna and Polys are two of my favourite things! And Lightfast are a great idea for this year’s Christmas gifts too! ❤️

Thank you, this video was extremely informative and a lot of fun to see all the different art supplies, I realized that I have a lot of the same things, same with the books. Not all but a lot, I also realized that you have been a big influence on me🤣 I'm grateful for all the color-a-longs using so many different mediums, I have to confess colored pencils are still my favorite. 🤗💜

How long did this take?! This was so generous Karen. Thank you so much. I absolutely love having all of these media together in one video - I’m sure I’ll be referring to this for a long time to come. My personal favourites are my prismacolor pencils and Neocolor II. I had the pencils but the crayons were an influenced buy after seeing your backgrounds in Kerby’s book. I have the Polychromos on my Christmas list. Merry Christmas and thanks for all your hard work. You put so much in to your channel and it shows ❤❤❤

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words-it means so much to me! 💐🤗🥰 It did take a bit of time to put everything together, but I’m thrilled to hear it’s helpful and something you’ll refer back to. Prismacolor pencils and Neocolor II are such great choices-so versatile and fun to use! Neocolor II are amazing for backgrounds, especially in Kerby’s books. Fingers crossed Santa brings you those Polychromos for Christmas-they’re such a joy to work with! 🎄🎁 Merry Christmas to you too, and thank you for your support ❤️

I just ordered the Imagine Gold, Frost, and sheer spray. Thanks for your review of them. I can't wait to try them. They do have a copper one too, but I was unsure about it. Someone left a review and said it looked more like pink, and looking at the pictures it did. Maybe I will order it some other time to check it out. I love the Sparkle Pop Pens and, the Ohuhu Glitter markers. I think they both have more glitter, shine, and pop of color, than any of the pens or markers out there. I also like the Gelly Roll Pens...All of the different ones. All of your colored pages are beautiful!🥰💖💙💜

Thank you so much, Stella! 🥰 I’m so glad you enjoyed the review the sprays are so much fun to use, they're one of my absolute favourite sparkly mediums. I completely agree about the Sparkle Pop pens and Ohuhu glitter markers-they’re amazing for adding that extra pop and shine to your pages! And the Gelly Rolls are such classics; you can’t go wrong with those.❤️❤️ Happy colouring 🤗

This was an awesome video. Thank you Karen. I actually have the majority of the art supplies you showed and what I don’t have are items I would love to buy but was unaware of their existence. Your colouring always blows me away and you didn’t fail me with this video. May you have a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and may 2025 be another great year for you. Fingers crossed 🤞 we don’t get a day of high temperatures here in Oz this year,🎉🥰🌹

Hello Karen. Happy Holidays ❤️. Thank you for all the work you put into making this video. 7 hours of talking, teaching, explaining, etc., is a lot. That's why 3 hours watching it was a drop in the bucket. I enjoyed every minute and learned so much. I have a lot of those pencils, all artist grade, really expensive. I am new to this hobby, so I felt like the expensive pencils would help me color better. Not so. 😀 However, I did not see the Pablo Pencils in the video or your conversion chart. Do you have them? Do you use them and if so, do you like them? The King Art Gel sticks, I had never heard of. A lot of those supplies you mentioned, I do have from watching some of your other videos. I have all of the coloring books you showed except for maybe 4 or 5. Excellent video. Xoxo 😘

All pencils from Chinese pencil manufacturers don’t have open stock, and Arrtx is one of them, so the price of the whole set in China is much cheaper than in Australia ( The price of the 126 set in China is around AUD$50 now).
@Welcome_to_colour_time5 күн бұрын
I haven't found arrtx 126 for 50.00 yet I'm Australia they are about 89.00 for 126 set.

I mean in China, Arrtx 126 set is 230yuan, about $50AUD, that’s why I said the price in China is much cheaper than in Australia. I am also in Australia, but sometimes but art supplies from China after comparing the price. @@Welcome_to_colour_time
