I’m very meticulous about getting my projects done before starting something new I have 3000 points of marines fully painted and based, currently I’m paining the tyranid portion of the box and it’s only the chaff units. My dad plays templars but falls into long spells of not touching the hobby so to get him back in I’m painting his grimauldus and gifting him some Templar dice from Barron of dice. But having the nids half done and my dads grimaldus I’m doing that’s as big as my “pile of shame” has been

My pile of "potential" has grown since 7th edition having not played since Rogue Trader (yes, I'm that old). Trouble is that due to new meds, I have hands that just will not stop shaking. Looks like I'm going to be selling it all...

This year I made a goal to paint around 60 models (twice from what I did last year). I'm actually really close to completing that goal, but it still seems I have a ways to go finishing my pile of shame. Let's see how many EXACTLY I still have to prime and paint.

I had a 3000 points pile of shame of tyranids. It took me 2 month of 3h a day painting sessions to paint everything to an ok standard leaving the door open to a higher standard for when i want to play with them. I think to manage a pile of shame you should put a rule of not buying anything new as soon as the pile start to become too big. Now that all my 40k models are done, i have 2000 points or tomb kings and 1000 points of skaven to paint. I won't buy anything new for a long time.
