Great recap. Some day I will make it to Expo. Would love to meet some of the greats in pinball reporting even though I'm a nobody in the hobby :P

My first, definite not last. I am so thankful that Deborah and everyone in the Tilt family welcomed me with such kindness. I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to meet you. I love the video and I’m looking forward to your upcoming videos of everything I was unable to experience. I was running around trying to help, and Thursdays scorekeeping was busy. Not to say that I didn’t have one of the greatest times and see a ton of stuff. But I know I missed some. Thanks for the content!

This was my first time going and I thought it was great. If anything I would say keep it the same for next year. All in one section seemed to work well and all the manufacturer were well represented. The highlight for me was getting to play Magic Girl. I never though I would see one, let alone play one.

Review video was great! I and my son attended Friday. Good show. Definite plus was no big lines to wait to play machines, like TPF. Only minor complaints were: 1) lack of many of the vendors I was used to at TPF (I wanted to buy a variety of small parts that just were not available, just to save on shipping). 2) the $45/day per person fee. Not sure if they had a early buyer weekend pass option like TPF(I didn't notice one but was a last minute decision to travel 8 hours from Sioux Falls, SD (via car) to attend on Friday/Saturday, with my 18yr son. We had a good time from noon to 10pm(with a dinner break in the middle). I didn't see the value of returning Saturday for another $45 each for the two of us. We went off to do indoor rock climbing and shopping instead. I guess if I was super into the seminars and was only paying for myself, then I might have re-considered attending Saturday. I'd like to see them be more in line with TPF early ticket purchase / Weekend pass of $65 per person.
@CaryHardy2 жыл бұрын
Wow. I honestly had no idea what the ticket cost was. I get in free at TPF for bringing games. When I visit Expo I have had the luxury of my tickets being paid for. But that seems very expensive in comparison to TPF.
@PubeStache2 жыл бұрын
We also skipped returning on Saturday. We saw and played everything we wanted to on Friday. It was definitely cheaper last year too. $30 a day and Saturday was $35. We're skipping going next year.

Same I had my wife and mother with me and my two little kids. I couldn't see paying$45 additional for my wife and mom for anther day. If it was like 2019 there was Groupon deals for less then $15 a day. Definitely would of went anther day instead of one. We ended up going to galloping ghost and had a blast.

Hello Cary Chad from Atlanta, it was great meeting you. We had a blast. The only suggestion would be for the bumper blast is to not have a tournament going on the same night everyone arrives. We only got to play one machine due to the majority of them being used for the tournament.
@CaryHardy2 жыл бұрын
They have to start the tournament as soon as possible due to how long it lasts. They were still playing til mid Sunday.

I tech for CLE pinball show. And its a pet peeve of mine everyone does not set free play rig free play or add a credit button. Also when people do not fully go over and fix get games tournament / show ready. We do try really hard to fix keep everything on the floor running.

FANTASTIC OVERVIEW CARY! And beautiful a/v presentation, as well as your commentary flow (bravo sir!). I'm sure some day, you'll get to meet King Henry ;) Many thanks to you, Cary, for providing very ESSENTIAL content that has helped me awake the pinball-fever-(damn you and STDM! lol). And very well spoken about your Bro, and what all of these wonderful people that cared, despite you 'running away' from it..I think that is the magic potion RIGHT THERE. Keep it flippin' Dude! (OH!< I didn't go, but seriously they need carpet in there, just like the Tacoma, WA convention center..that really helps acoustics and the feet!).

Nice chatting with you for a couple of minutes! This was my second Expo and I dunno, I had more fun last year, but maybe that's because it was my first time going. Is it common to see people absolutely beating on the machines at shows? They act like it's the final round of a tournament with the way they're playing. For example, at the Pinball Brothers booth there were two guys playing ALIEN, as if they were playing for money, and when the ball was near the pop bumpers the other guy would smack the side of the machine over and over. This was a machine marked as SOLD too.. I'm always careful around machines that aren't mine and honestly use the Expo as a way to play games I don't normally get a chance to play. Having zero interest in tournaments, I guess I just don't get the "gamer" aspect of the hobby. Brb I gotta go smack some flipper buttons. SMACK

People have their methods, but not sure why they were doing what they were doing on Alien though...

Still waiting (toes tapping, like Sonic the Hedgehog)...for your REVIEW of the "ROCK" Pinball Machines from Stern - RUSH, LED ZEPPELIN, IRON MAIDEN, BEATLES, AEROSMITH, METALLICA, AC/DC, KISS, ROLLING STONES, ELVIS...and if you're really feeling salty then throw in Jersey Jack's GUNS AND ROSES. Something like a COUNTDOWN / RANKING on different Features, such as - Music Package, Artwork (Cabinet, Backglass and Playfield), Game Play and Overall.
