Pokémon Renegade Platinum Hardcore Nuzlocke - #13- Originally Streamed 2/14/24

Pokémon Renegade Platinum is an advanced difficulty catch-em-all romhack of Pokémon Platinum created by Drayano. In a Snaplocke, I ask viewers to vote for which Pokemon to ban from my playthrough. The top 50% most voted for Pokémon are banned! Check out the list of eligible and banned Pokemon here - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first eligible Pokémon I find on each Route.
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
Extra Rules:
7. No Set-Up Moves
8. EVs are turned OFF

Of Flygonhg don’t be too hard on yourself renegade platinum is hard enough with all the Pokemon, your pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a Pokémon master and for that you should always be proud!

Saw an interesting idea on a Nuzlocke rule would love to see you attempt it, essentially the rule is u can only add a team member to ur team if this a vacant slot in ur party. Essentially meaning u must stick with the same Pokemon until one faints in battle

The rest strat is still so unique, even if it is a bit cheesy. You played well, I don't know if there was anything else you could do, avalanche seems like it gets used randomly, unless mamo saw you use protect and because you went first, saw that avalanche would do more damage going second? That would still make it less powerful than EQ though, so it doesn't sound right. Sucks to lose such a valuable 'mon, but it's what it's.

Nice starts, however he could’ve used sucker punch with mawile to then bate earthquake from mamo and send in hounhcrow safely

I feel like you played that optimally anyway man. It is always hard to predict AI and in games with RNG, niche stuff just happens sometimes. 1 death against a super difficult gym leader is still just so well played. So don't beat yourself up and continue having fun with this one 😊

I'm never even slightly bothered by the name mispronunciations, since it's an established fact that you do it on purpose and it's a meme on it's own... But hearing you go "I'M THE JUGGERNAUT" without the "beach" at the end is honestly kinda getting on my nerves xD

I think you should have risked the 1 in 16 to mamoswine (crit) instead of weird avalanche which I think is more probable than 1 in 16

Drayano explained in the chat that Avalanche is one of those moves that has weird AI behind it in the vanilla game and he couldn't really do anything with it. Sort of like how the game doesn't really acknowledge Dry Skin as an ability.

@@AUM_-po9sc yeah i had a hunch it was carried over from vanilla, but its like how/why does it behave like that, it's objectively the incorrect move and the AI knows that? the AI knew of a flying type but to correctly read the switch? like the only quirk is that it has -4 priority and i truly do not understand how that would cause this level of tomfoolery lmao gutting loss and he even called it happening, swings and roundabouts this snaplocke haha

@@shanesloth4419 , who knows how it actually works...unless someone crack the game open and researches. I guess, idk, it went random move and it liked Avalanche enough as a choice? Maybe AI went for a chip damage, because EQ wasn't a guaranteed kill even if it crit? Dunno.

@@shanesloth4419this may just be not true but AI possible reads all minus priority moves equally like counter and mirror coat. When it doesnt have a move to ohko the negative priority move might get more chance to get clicked.
