I discovered you by chance. The before and after views of your old Porti-Boy PE-7 show a lot of TLC for your project. Would you mind telling me how much you had to give for that machine? BTW, do you know how the Porti-Boy got its name? An old FD friend of mine related the story to me. It begins at the John B Turner & Son Mortuary in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Mr. Turner, and an employee, had seen other pressure injection devices before. Mr. Turner also owned a microphone manufacturing company and was not a stranger to doing something other than operating a mortuary. I do not know what name was first attached to the new machine. Mr. Turner called on mortuaries to introduce his new creation. One of those mortuaries was the Porter Loring Mortuary in San Antonio, Tx. Mr. Loring had a young son who was introduced to Mr. Turner as Portiboy. A name probably a shortened version of Porter boy. Porti-Boy Machines continued being built at Turner Microphone Company for many years and eventually was sold to Embalmers Supply Co. I used to sell, service, and repair Porti-Boy machines. The PE-7, such as yours, was the model T of pressure embalming machines. They could develop quirks, and leaks. Make funny noises and lose pressure, but they would keep on going as long as they could go at all. My old FD friend was J. Warden Opie, of Rogan Mortuary in Rock Springs Wyoming. I did call Porter Loring Mortuary in San Antonio, to verify the Porti-Boy name and how it came to be. That was affirmed. If you google Porter Loring Jr., you will see that he dropped the "boy" and was known as Porti.
