Very nice! I love the video capture! Premiere 4 is 68k and PPC, and will be quick on there but might be too slow for full SDTV resolution. Premiere 5 was sluggish in general on my upgraded 7300/180 but zips along on a G4. By all means try the editing - your BlueSCSI and some extra RAM could make a real difference, but if it's slow don't be afraid to use this for the awesome capture system it is and then edit elsewhere.

Sounds good, thanks! How much extra RAM do you recommend? Probably at least enough for it to work comfortably with VM turned off I assume?

@@europa6502 According to EveryMac they can fit up to 1Gb! I'd hold out for 168-pin 128mb DIMMs. 128Mb should be plenty for 320x240 but 256-512Mb would be better for 640x480. You're right that you'll get best results working with enough RAM to not worry about VM. My 7300/180 had 512Mb when I sold it and was used mostly for Director and Flash.

@@imalebowski Epic! 1GB is definitely my goal, and thanks for the info on how much I'd want for 640x480. I should have a video coming out sometime in the coming days (maybe even today) about a RAM upgrade that'll take the machine to 120MB (although either one of the slots or one of the sticks isn't working quite right it seems, so I'll probably pull it until I can do further testing, so that'll bring me down to 112MB). Hopefully I can find 128MB DIMMs without having to pay an arm and a leg xD

I am noticing that there is this vertical band with some vertical lines. By any chance are you aware this could be a hardware issue or simply related to the video cable itself?

It's an issue with the monitor - it's showed up on any input and device I've tried. It doesn't bother me too terribly much, but it's still unfortunate.

@@europa6502 oh right. i did see what i thought was one. is there a microcontroller interface for those other network ports? or can you add USB via expansion slot?

This has PCI, so assuming I could find the proper chipset I could add USB as well as things like firewire. I'm not quite sure if I know what you mean by microcontroller interface though? Sorry if I'm being dense xD

@@europa6502 all good. i'm probably using the wrong terms. i believe the bluescsi uses a raspberry pi pico(rp2040). I've often wondered if something like that could be powered and used by the mac to add wifi or even a https proxy
