I’m not of African heritage or a black person, but I really appreciate Beyoncé making this album, I love to see people being proud of their culture and flaunt their pride for their heritage in their artistry , celebrating who they are to show that they aren’t ashamed of what history deemed them to be. I support this spirit and passion. I think it’s beautiful and inspiring, and a good examples for generations to come

My heritage isn't one of colour, but watched black is king the other night, and holy shit, WOW. The visuals, artwork, the story it tells, the culture it celebrates and the music is all absolutely phenomenal. I wish that everyone can see it for what it is and appreciate the art that it is. And also this track especially is a fucking BANGER!

This album deserves so many more ears. I hate that folk aren't open minded to the different sound of Afrobeats & artists.
@beowulf7893 Жыл бұрын
I agree but a small correction, this is not afro beat its Gqom , afro-beats are west African this one is south African
@hannahjones8115 Жыл бұрын
@@beowulf7893 Yemi Alade is a Nigerian artist, who represents Afro-beat. The entire album featured lots of Afrobeat singers. Yemi Alade, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, and Mr. Eazi are all Nigerian artists who are all prominent figures in Afrobeat.
@beowulf7893 Жыл бұрын
@@hannahjones8115 well i was talking specifically about this song not the album, the beat of this song is gqom it sounds nothing like afro beat thats why they have Busiswa, moon child sanely south African artists and dj lag a south African dj in there.
@hannahjones8115 Жыл бұрын
@tokoloshiehunter ummm, I know it's a south African genre, but the main comment was about the entire album, not this specific song 🙄
@beowulf7893 Жыл бұрын
@@hannahjones8115, @tokoloshiehunter The main comment also said " To the different sound of afro-beats " and i was just letting him know that this sound specifically is not afro beat, just small misunderstandings its all good.

I danced to this song with my school because it is an art school! And with it being a predominately white school I’m so glad I got to this with African music and African moves and got to share the great feeling of this dance with them! When I was on stage we would look and all the other students were doing them oves with us backstage it was so fun! That was in 6th grade I’m now in 8th grade! Loved it!
