One flaw in this calculation is that dividend from one quarter cannot not be assumed for the rest of the year. Hubc may not payout 6 rs for other quarters

Hi wali, Huge fan of your content. I am actually beginning to invest in mutual funds after seeing your videos. However I do have a few add from my own experience and 1 question: 1. The tax saving that you talk about in your mutual fund videos is only limited to 1 year. According to FBR, you have to hold the investment in your account on which you are claiming your tax rebate. 2. Pension funds lock your money for 25 years or you reaching at the age of 60, which ever comes first and only then you can take out the money. However you can claim your tax for only that year. 3. I am opening my mutual fund account with HBL and the advisor is saying to go for money market fund right now as it has stable profit and you can claim your tax rebate. What are your thoughts? Video Ideas: How to file taxes in Pakistan? Benefits of filing taxes. Again a very huge fan of your content. Probably the only one who is making content on these topic. This is not just helping young generation but I believe people in their 40s gaining a lot from your content as well. Thank you for making quality content.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, the investments have to be hold for a one year period and pension funds are to be locked in. These are the prerequisites, but eventually it will benefit in longer term. Which money market fund are you referring to? Have you checked its annual returns for last 2-3 years? For taxes in Pakistan, I am not well versed as I am only filing the required documentation being overseas - and most of the time I am only making the videos for things which I have done myself OR know enough about them. @@WaliKhan_2k I think if you hold hubc for next one year still you won't get 89% return and secondly XIRR for short term investment with dividend return does not make sense unless you consider it for long term 3 or 4 years then it will give accurate results

Just keep it simple and do very slowly for first 2-3 months Just see the process, observe how thing goes. Buy a couple of dividend stocks to see how the dividend comes to your bank account in due time.

Salam. Wali bhai Excel sheet to share kardijiyega. Besides, kindly make a video on taxes in PSX in detail. CGT, IT and other taxes applied while transacting/ redeeming shares. I got ambiguity regarding CGT in PSX too that does it gets reduced and ultimately nil if we hold the scrip for more than three years like in property or not?

Wasalam, the excel sheet is added in the description of the video. CGT on stocks, as far as i know is not limited to the timeframe now and you have to pay for it even after 5 years.

If you sell within a year of purchase, your profit will be 100% taxed @12.5% If you sell it after one year, then 75% of profit/gain will be taxed at the applicable rate, i.e. 12.5% right now. If you sell after 2 years then 50% will be taxed. If you sell after 3 years, 25% of gain will be taxed. After 4 years your 100% gain will be exempted from tax

Please refer to Income tax ordinance 2001 latest amended version from FBR website. Also note that capital gain tax rate @12.5% is for tax filer, while for non filer rate is 25%

Greetings from India . Excellent effort in creating such educational videos on investments , personal productivity. My few comments on this video and earlier ones on calculating returns on investments using Excel XIRR formula. 1. XIRR works excellently , irrespective of dates of investments or withdrawals/sale follow certain series or not. Hence XIRR formula works better than IRR formula, which requires uninterrupted date series. 2. Treatment for Dividend received against stocks is treated differently in India . Dividend is added as number of stocks rather than as direct cash flow , this is accepted norm as per our local regulator SEBI. Dividend is action of stock, not our action hence its treated differently. For e.g. assuming Total dividend for stocks in possession on day prior to Ex-Dividend date recd is Rs 200, ex-dividend price ( highest) is Rs 100 .....then add 200/100 shares to the portfolio, which is 2 with cashflow zero. 2. Similarly, you may like to guide viewers how to treat Split shares , Buy-backs , rights issue etc 3. Google Finance and Google Sheets can be used to create personal Portfolio tracker..which is automated ..almost real time with delay of 10-20 mins while stock market is live !!! This can be downloaded on mobile phone also..so its super convenient. You are doing a great job ..one of very few Pakistani KZbinr i have seen on this subject. I am sure, retail investors ( first timer or regular ) in Pakistani stock market must be finding it useful. Best regards

Thanks a lot for your comments and detailed insight. I was not aware that in India the dividends are offered in terms of shares. In Pakistan, dividends are mostly granted in terms of cash and a few companies also offer shares separately. I myself only started stocks journey a few years back and still learning a lot and sharing with community :) Happy to know the diversity in the audience - keep spreading the word :)

Well, Dividend is paid in cash in India..but for calculation of return as per SEBI ( Indian capital market regulator) its treated as equivalent shares . Its more an accounting treatment or one may say notional wealth creation. Bonus shares given by cos are different , as it gets added to our stock account at zero cash outflow. I stand corrected regarding Google Finance -- as it is not currently giving feeds from Karachi Stock Exchange. There could be some other tools available to track online Pakistani stocks and Mutual funds at one place . Keep-up good work 👍
