Hi, sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. I'm getting slightly inclined towards SWE, i was wondering for the front-end roles, do you, as a SWE design the UX/UI or will there be specialists for that and they give the mock up and you code it?

Depends on the company and team. If the company is in early stages (for eg just raised their first round of fundings). The team might not have a UI/UX designer and might be outsourcing that. In that case, you’ll have to use your best design judgement as a developer for at least smaller things. If the team does have a designer, then they’ll provide you with the design mockups. Bigger companies usually have a design person in the teams.

There’s no such thing as the most important language. Whatever you’ve learnt so far, keep improving on it. It’s not about how many languages you know, but how well you know them. Start putting yourself out there! If you have some sort of meetings (standups), start speaking up more. You can prepare notes before hand if you want. You can push yourself more by creating videos! You can start an anonymous channel and do voiceovers, the more you practice, the better you’ll get.
