Having recently published my two-part series on the history of public domain VHS (of the cartoon variety) this piece delves into the realms of public domain DVD. It's not a documentary so much as the VHS series was, but I pull out my massive collection of public domain DVD's and discuss the different companies, the quality of the products and even put a few on to show the format of the productions as well as their "amazing" DVD menus at the start. I really just did this one for fun, but it goes with the content I have been producing recently.

I had no idea there was so many public domain videos! Most of them, okay all of them, look like an 8th grade class from 1987 did the graphics as part of a midterm exam. You have a lot of really cool interests! Thanks for sharing them with us!

Great video! I actually love collecting stuff like this. I have some releases from Mill Creek, Echo Bridge, Platinum Disc, and even Passion Productions and Digiview. I agree with a lot of your views. A few things: Those 50 Movie Packs of yours were actually from Mill Creek. Mill Creek Entertainment is at the top of their game. They are constantly distributing content from Sony Pictures and Universal Pictures. Also, The reason that those Echo Bridge DVDs of yours had the Platinum Disc logo was actually because that's actually who they were until 2005. But anyways, great video, and I am amazed to see someone else interested in public domain content like this, because I thought was the only one! Amazing collection!

Nice public domain collection I have a few public domain dvds in my collection Heck mill creek actually released a few official complete series sets and movies in their library on dvd and blu ray so mill creek is expanding upon their usual public domain stuff Echo bridge is also expanding from what I’ve heard too Nowadays thanks to thrift shops and dollar tree you can find official movies on dvd or even blu ray for a cheap price that’s just as cheap as public domain dvds physical media has gone a long way Great video

Definitely agree with that, I love both Mill Creek and Eco Bridge. And it’s so easy to just say “ehh it’s just public domain stuff”. But public domain collections introduced me to film noir, some of my favorite documentaries and even introduced me to Eurocrime films. There’s so much good reproduced and original content coming through those distributors. I love it!
