I totally agree about getting animals from shelters to help them and probably save their lives, but some people prefer to get puppies because they like to bring them up and have them trained to a way they like and when you get from a shelter you don’t always know what they will do. But yes I always recommend going for shelter animals before breeders but it’s all about preference!

Molly Aleese you can get a puppy from a shelter. And whenever you get a dog you have no idea how they were raised doesn’t matter if it’s from a puppy store (who sells them for profit) or a shelter just trying to get the pups good homes

Yeah but if nobody buys the puppies they will end up in shelters and some people like my family like to be able to know there dogs are soft and will not hurt them because they have know them there whole life and raised them my friend got a puppie from a shelter and it has anxiety witch the shelter didn’t tell them ! And the puppie dug though the doors to get out the house in the night and bite the other dog witch they raised I’m not saying dont get dogs from shelters but some people don’t want to

Em I think that unless you have allergies and need a specific breed, it’s better to adopt from a shelter. They have so many dogs and most of them are unique coz they’re not pure breeds. Shelters need dogs to be adopted

Shelter dogs usually require a little extra effort. Not saying every dog does but some people can’t and don’t know how to deal with rescue dogs. That’s why there’s steps to adopting and if someone’s deemed unworthy then they can buy.

Heather Pincombe perhaps an adult dog can require more effort..depending on their history. But there's no reason a pup should. A pup is a pup..you might as well rescue. It's cheaper and you're supporting the shelter..allowing them to continue saving lives.
