Having fished the Cauvery twice nearly 20 years ago i cannot explain the joy this gave me and the excitement and passion this rekindled within me to take the step and commit to these as some see it mad adventures. What they don't realise is the capture is just one part of the experience and almost more than the fishing the memories are of the place and the people we meet on the way. Fishing maybe the reason we go but sometimes not the reason we return. Great film guys, the news of the dams planned is sad for me but devastating for the communities and cultures of the area. I will be adding my objections wherever i can, the loss of this population of a species that survives the adversities of nature as it does only to be made extinct by mans efforts to tame nature would be a huge loss. Fishing as the team at Himalayan outback clearly bring revenue to the region and raise the profile of the issues maybe there is hope. What film, what memories came flooding back, keep them coming Carl!

India is like no other place. There are depths to be plumbed there, on so many levels. Happy Alex was there. The best way to see a leopard is to walk with a dog in tow. They love dogs. The mighty masheer seriously distracted me from my main endeavours there. My biggest came from a piece of chapati. There is an aura about these fish that is unique. Well done Omi . Glad they are still using clay chai cups...

Omg. The vidoe i waited so long, the golden Mahseer is also my dream fish, im from Pakistan and live on the bank of indus river, very few people around the world know that the real home of Mahseer is indus river, Mahseer that live here are gigantic, i have seen some big Mahseer, although i haven't been able to catch a big one yet, but i am trying, someone i know claims that he saw a golden Mahseer weighting over 80 kilos, (i doubt it but who knows) the best encounter i had with the was last year in October 2023 on the of indus river (very big and deep river) a fish jump in the middle of the river the sound was so loud that many people heard and talked about it, unfortunately this fish isn't being valued as you do carps in your countries, fish is just food here, you can also come to Pakistan and catch golden Mahseer larger maybe a record size... Amazing video btw 👌🏼
17 күн бұрын
No , the oldest fossils of the mahseer are from the Ganges riverine system. And moreover it's recorded history in the Ganges is older than that of the Indus.

I have long been a fan of your story and your amazing videos but this one resonates more than most. As a teenager, I watched several videos of people fishing for Mahseer and it remains a bucket-list wish for me to follow in their footsteps and now yours. Perhaps I need to work a little harder on making that dream happen. Please continue to inspire us to get out fishing but to take joy in the surroundings when we do this. You are truly a wonderful story teller and movie maker.

I first saw this fish when John Wilson went there it's so many years ago and this brought back so many childhood fishing memories of fishing and watching fishermen on TV. I'm so happy you got your fish in the end, definitely deserved it for the time, commitment and dedication you have. It's people like you that still give me some hope for this planet which sadly is going to rack and ruin...Keep up the amazing work and chasing your dreams Carl...

I never knew of this fish before. I was drawn in. It was as much a documentary as a fishing video. Excellent work!

What a brilliant video this is Carl. You have truly caught India’s most beautiful fish and created the most relaxing and informing video. So excited for the future of this channel, I know this is just the beginning of brilliant exquisite videos like this that intrigue young anglers like me to carry on in this amazing hobby. An idea for a future movie/vid could be to visit Hawkhurst fish farm and catch big catfish. From past experience I know that fishing on this venue is challenging but definitely rewarding and would one hundred percent engage your audience on a new level. Sincerely Joseph Standen & Harvey Cassidy ❤❤🎣🎣🐟🐟

Your editing is truly breath taking.. you manage to tell a story not just angling… I’m from the northeastern part of India and like you said watching past many anglers who have fish the mahaseer made me dream of catching one too… sad my time has not yet come.. and even more sad if i am able to catch one in the future… lets hope that this species is protected…

I've seen Jeremy wade fishing on golden mahseer on TV years ago when I was a child. It is an absolute blast to see you now following his footsteps. Keep on exploring and fishing. Best regards from Germany 🇩🇪 ❤
