This one girl i met online was my best friend for a bit under a year. Then suddenly, she just disappeared. Gone. Doesn’t say anything. She was suicidal and so after a week of her being gone… I started getting suicidal. Please for the love of god don’t commit, it’ll just pass the pain onto your closest friend or family member; even if you don’t realized it, people who barely knew you would get sad. For people who were the comforters like me, please don’t commit just because you couldn’t save another from committing. You’re just getting your closest friend sad. It’s an endless cycle, so please end the cycle and don’t continue it. I’ve thought about committing, and please get help or reach out to someone you are comfortable with. If you want therapy then ask your doctor. I give advice but don’t follow my own advice, but please reach out. There’s always someone who would die for you, even if you don’t know it. So please.

Btw the girl doesn’t die this is actually the english cover of the original. In the original it was apart of a song series and the last song “diary of underage observations” I think it’s called and in that song it mentions a girl at a rooftop talking to herself and at the end of that song the girl says this time I’m gonna talk to her the girl on the roof. And then at the very last scene you here the tune that happens when they say “hey, don’t do, it please...” so the girl on the roof in the original survives.

And even though committing is super bad and nobody should go though that she says “ is gonna jump now and BE FREE” as in saying nobody will care. And when your heart has been broken, have no friends, or family who care for you she isn’t doing harm to anyone but herself. So the person going though the suffering has the worst pain and it might make them feel worse if you say “your being selfish” but if you don’t want them to die you should say “ don’t die we care for you and don’t want you to be sad”

The girl mumbles to herself on the rooftop trying to convince herself not to jump which is the main POV we see in My R, her talking to the girl with braids, girl who is petite and the girl who wears the yellow cardigan. If you look at the lyrics at the end it confirms this. for people wondering the actual story to the song, its js a girl trying to stop herself from committing suicide everyday until, eventually, she cant do it anymore. the people she was talking to were actually her. the girl in the story was talking to herself but was describing it as though it was someone different. in the end of the song she describes the 3 main people who are said in the story (there were more but they weren't described) as herself using certain memorable things abt their appearance such as braided hair, petite/short, and a yellow cardigan. the actual meaning behind the song is that there is never js one reason for suicide and its usually 1 big things with a bunch of smaller things that lead up to someone wanting to end their life. the big issue for the girl in the song was her home life (which is usually represented as self harm or domestic abuse) but there were other little issues such as bullying and losing the only person who gave u hope in life (your romantic partner) which just added more pressure. on the outside u might think shes weak and pathetic for wanting to end it all bc of a breakup or some bullying but there are so many more issues going on that no one knows about which is causing the girl in this story to want to end her life. there is never js one reason when it comes to suicide and thats what this song is depicting through lyrics and visuals. hopefully that all made sense.

But the line, “Please just go away so I can’t see your pitiful expression is just too much for me!” Indicates a final gaslighting to herself to see that she isn’t a victim, and that the way she feels isn’t valid because of that. But deep down she knows she is, and the struggle of staying is slowly guiding her to her final destination of really attempting to commit suicide. I love this song, it’s always been something I connect deeply with. Now looking back, when I was at my high edge of actually attempting, this gaslighting strategy kept me for a little longer. Remember, there is always a way out, and you will come out on the other side. It’ll be okay, even though you’re not right now. It may feel like forever, but I promise you, it’s not.
