I hate how they add unnecessary layers to make the villain worse and the story more dramatic. In the "I older I come the hotter I look" story, the protagonist's last straw was when the bully started tormenting a kid on crutches. Disabilities only seem exist in these animated stories when they make the story more dramatic. The neglected/abused protagonist is usually super smart and perfect too, as if the abuser isn't already in the wrong..

WAY more commonly heterochromia is one eye brown and the other not (blue, green, grey etc). I don't think green and blue would even be that obvious unless someone really looked at it and idk about you but I don't usually stare at people. Also, heterochromia is really beautiful imo and I think most people would also say it's unique and interesting, not ugly or freaky. These stories really take it upon them to paint something as freakish when it's not... I also would like to add that, in most cases, heterochromia is not associated with any kinds of additional symptoms or health problems. There are some rare cases where heterochromia can be an indication for another disease, but it's questionable if they aren't just coincidental.

Is it too much to hope for a positive relationship between two girls in these stories? Like, has there ever been one? It seemed hopeful in the cheerleader part where they were chill and "oh wow a not-evil cheerleader!" but I guess I should have known better than to get my hopes up. I can only hope that kids that seek out these stories for genuine entertainment don't see every cheerleader and other girls as mean, unless you're a boy in which you are allowed to get along with girls by which I mean you have at least one love interest by the end of the story.

So she has one blue eye and one green and wears blue contacts? Mmkay, so each time a contact fell out, it was always the one that revealed her green eye? What a coincidence she got found out this way each time My thoughts? 1, her mum was awful and the dad should have got rid years before. Presumably he had mostly raised his daughter on his own if the mum hated her that much, and 2, saying people become obsessed with her was quite the exaggeration. I'm glad things worked out for her in the end though.

Guess that weird Gacha trope of parents and/or others freaking out at heterochromia and considering it evil, ugly, and/or just generally abhorrent and hating and being awful to anyone with it has blended over into My Story Animated….. Like…. heterochromia being associated with bad luck or evil just is not a thing, save for maybe a few smaller, very uncommon beliefs in some more isolated religions or cultures. Literally no one sees heterochromia and feels anything but positively about it and how cool it is. Why do these stories think heterochromia is some marginalized, stigmatized, persecuted group and treated like they’re freaking mutants like in the Marvel X-Men sense? This just isn’t a thing! Why is this a trope?

I hadn't even noticed it until someone pointed it out (because I have my head in the clouds, I guess, since it wasn't that hard to spot) and after I did I just found it cool and that was about it. I can't claim I know anyone else with heterochromia but her experience was pretty positive on that regard, even as a kid she says no one ever bullied her or anything about it, it was mostly friends of family and such telling her that her eyes were pretty.

i have heterochromia and my rare eyes have never made people obsessed with me. ffs my heterochromia is more noticeable than this protag (mine brown and green/hazel which would have a higher contrast than blue and green) but still most people don't notice it unless in specific lighting. and yeah, most immediate responses i get upon noticing are, "wow that's cool!" and sometimes some stupid questions. otherwise no one gives a shit lmfao. also heterochromia doesn't appear immediately after birth because the melanin in certain parts of your body isn't done developing. that's why all newborns are born with grey eyes. in fact, many newborns who start to develop heterochromia do have to be medically examined. not for bad luck, but for hearing loss.
