Agreed on all accounts. I'm seriously concerned about the massive player counts. This makes it harder for performance, harder to fill servers properly, harder to tune maps, etc. Bigger isn't always better, and I've hoped they've made the development team bigger to compensate.

I personally want the TTK to be somewhat similar to BF4 with predictable damage multipliers. I don’t like having to worry about hitting someone in the upper chest to get a 1.1 percent damage multiplier instead of the lower chest 1.0 multiplier (this is an example). Damage models like this make the gunplay feel weird and unpredictable. Simple head and limb damage multipliers will do.

Gassed for this, just noticed somthing small while watching this, when the tuk tuk gets pulled by the tornado it’s front wheel comes off, wander if this means that vechials will have proper damage such as being able to blow of wheels and other parts that are a little more mobility damaging than the fairly cosmetic damage the planes take in bf5. They freaking nailed it! A few concerns/thoughts: I don't want any one Specialist to be able to do everything, such as reviving teammates and being able to take out tanks, all while using whatever weapon they want. All Specialists need to feel useful and unique, and this has to do a lot with what secondary gadgets are available for each player. I agree with you on the "cross-play" divisions, with PC separate from old gen consoles which are separate from new gen consoles. Aim-assist in my opinion needs to be MINIMAL, because many of us don't like it at all. TTK needs to be slower than CoD multiplayer, maybe more like Warzone, with a ton of guns being viable and no one or two being overpowered. The need a good anti-cheat, a good team-balancer between matches, private servers, streamer mode, and NO HARD SBMM!

This new specialist system ruined the hype for me. In previous battlefield games, the main thing that discouraged snipers from camping was the lack of ammo. Now that everybody has access to every primary weapon, expect to see a lot of support players camping in the back with sniper rifles and ammo boxes. or medics running around with 200-round LMGs. and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I'm extremely excited to play this game, everything looks awesome. My only two biggest problem is that I really don't like how all guns can be equipped on whatever class. I just feel like it takes away from the diversity and "job role". Like now you'll have a medic running around with a sniper, I just don't like the idea, maybe I'm biased because of all the other Battlefields I've played. And the other thing, I definitely don't like the idea of changing and tinkering on your gun mid fight, just doesn't make sense to me and really dumb. You should be rewarded for making and running a gun build you've setup for a specific reason, not slap on any attachment and not caring because you're gonna be able to change it mid fight

I want the TTK to be like bfv, gun play to be like COD but with heavier recoil. With snipers, i want them to behave like the COD snipers and their high bullet velocity, which will be a good match to the modern settings, and considering the size of the maps, if the bullet velocity is too slow, it will be damned near impossible to snipe at long range

Biggest concern is with the specialists and the ability to choose any weapon you want with any specialist. This just screams for balance issues and makes balancing the game that much harder. Especially if you also get to freely choose Gadgets (if that is even still a thing). I fear there is going to be that one or two meta specialists that everyone is going to (have to) run if they don't want to be severely disadvantaged. Of those shown so far the recon drone and the sentry gun specialist come to mind, that could be very powerful and meta. While not being bound / limited to certain choices of weapons because you want to have ammo boxes (if those are a thing still) allows more freedom and choices it balloons the combinations and thus increases balancing problems. It also means you can pick and choose the one perfect combination (or 2-3), as you longer have to content with the drawbacks of being limited to LMGs if you want to have ammunition, or being limited to sniper rifles if you want to run with the spotting drone (aka BF4s pokeball on steroids).

Isn't there a specialist with a rez dart gun? I mean, if she can still use literally any weapon in the game that is dead-ass broken. And that recon specialist ... I'm already on tilt 'cause I ain't gonna be able to flank him and stab him in the butt without some UI gimmick snitching on me. And there's going to be literally dozens of them on every team! I'm trying my best to envision this game as being not unbearably terrible ... but DICE, plz, NO.

Dunno the freedom sounds cool at first glance, but if you think about it, it's going to be horrible for balancing and just create annoying meta. If they somehow manage to balance that stuff then I will be surprised.

@@janebtar2167 The movement had a high skill ceiling. Air strafing was possible in BF3s movement system. Most players now think crouch sliding akes a good movement system, but IMO BF3 and BF4 had a far more competitive movement system that raised the skill ceiling of those games beyond just the gunplay. Hopefully BF2042 is back to that gameplay model.

A couple of points do worry me -SBMM will kill the game if its added -Can a new gen console player play with old gen -Rumors of AI to help fill up lobbys which i think is a good idea but the AI has to be on point for it to work -Player count being bigger and making the maps massive could just mean maps more empty with key points people fight over but the in betweens is empty and you have to walk places. I love just pure chaos maps where its smaller and just a cluster fuck in some areas.

I don't mind the lack of SP when they offer whole server mode against bots, which if I'm not mistaken they will. No need for a training ground or SP when you got that. As fun as MP is, it's not every day I can endure the sweaty gameplay that it more than likely will mean.

You raise a lot of the concerns I have. I would add a few as a console player: -ping limits or region lock for some servers in each region. playing in a local server as the only one with a ping below 100ms was normal in the last few battlefields and unless they have done some netcode magic it will be a problem in this one. More server coverage around the globe would obviously help mitigate this problem as well. -Anticheat: if this game is going to be crossplay at all it needs to have a solid anticheat and reporting tools. -Aim Assist: I am part of the camp who plays with a controller and believes that skill should matter more in shooters like battlefield. I would like to see the removal of the snap aim assist, which is essentially an aimbot. Dice really dropped the ball in terms of aim assist in BFV, and there are other issues with it so at the very least I would love the ability to actually turn it off completely (in previous titles disabling both aim assists still left a weaker version of the slowdown effect that could not be turned off. It was aggravating, because the whole point of turning it off was to gain full control of my point of aim and not have some aimbot moving it aroud on me.). -Performance: The last few battlefields on console have prioritized aesthetics/cinematics over gameplay when it comes to how some of their console settings left players experiencing framerate stutters and inconsistent framerates. It is a shooter. A stable framerate is crucial to having a consistent experience as a player. Doubly so on controller where framerate changes can drastically affect sensitivies. I have plenty of other concerns about this game but I will wait until I see gameplay.

The changeble attachment possibuillity is really exigthing for my end.. Built for long range in open areas, and when going CQB short barrel, underbarrel shotgun/ Flash , iron sight/ red dot.. Food for thought. How many players don't play the campaign because they've watched it already on KZbin. Or what would be the factored numbers from views on KZbin. There's many times I've bought games and I've already watched The campaign on KZbin so I just play multiplayer or don't purchase games because I've watched them on KZbin and times when I don't have money to buy them or maybe time to play them. The battlefield 3 & 4 campaigns were among the few I'll never forget. Tbh the best way for crossplay to work is by reducing player counts and map sizes if your playing with last gen consoles, and keep the big maps and player counts when playing with new gen consoles.

My huge question is wether suppressors will decrease bullet velocity and range or not. As supressors by themselves dont decrease bullet velocity they actually increase bullet velocity in real life. Subsonic ammunition, caliber, ammunition load, and short barrels are the only thing that would decrease velocity. I also hope that the attatchments make more sense for gameplay like how they do in modern warfare none of that crap from bf4 with grips and barrel attatchments having nonsensical benfits and downsides.

In terms of crossplay it should be split into next gen/old gen - pc and then another completely separate servers for those who want to play across all different platforms, for example if there is a squad of people from pc and old gen they can only play on smaller maps against other cross-platform teams. It would allow more people to enjoy BF regardless of what budget they run on.

Ive played on PC with a controller on BF4 and we dont get aim assist and honestly we dont need AA for BF I had a godly Aim without AA. I had a better aim on PC without AA than on console with AA. Btw we are getting a ROZE skin on BF bc the Ultimate Edition gives you the Midnight bundle which is a full black skin

CLAN servers are a must, better than any anticheat. Anyone who uses racist comments , griefs or just an asshat gets banned. BR mode is ok , but SDM solo death much is better. No luck involved. Just skill.

Thanks for this, Stodeh. Compared to other KZbin previews, much more balanced. Those are my concerns also. Along with my worries about hacking, vehicles, snipers and SBMM, I am wondering what are the incentives to actually play as a squad/team and PTFO. Will squad leaders/commanders have any actual power? Will we need to follow orders? I could see 60 solo snipers on each team, hanging back, then calling in vehicles as they get ten kills (as in Ground War kill streaks). Thanks for asking some good questions. Will be following.

As much as i like tactical shooters like Tarkov, Squad etc. i really hope they'll stick to the old 'shoot until dead' damage/gun play model instead of damage multipliers for internal organs and shit. Also, the 6.8mm Sig MCX Spear (that rifle Wingsuit Man is holding in the first scene) is an amazing addition and i absolutely love it. Btw, Dice pls fix the F-35 throttle. It's supposed to be on the left and not the right side of the cockpit

It won't be planetside, there are objectives where action will happen, but you're still very careful because in an over 100 player map there's no way you're the only one roaming around.

It would be cool to see a more in-depth character/weapon customization with unlocks completed through gameplay achievements(I'm thinking Rainbox six: Vegas style) instead of buying pre-made skins warzone style.
