Julie - being an "American" is not about where you're from, where you're at, or where you're going for that matter. It's about what you believe, and I don't mean religiously. If you believe that ALL people, EVERYWHERE, should be able to do whatever the hell they want to do (as long as it doesn't get in the way of others doing the same), then you my dear are an American. Welcome home! As for living unimpeded, the same pretty much goes for East Tennessee, we're gonna do what we're gonna do if they like it or not. Like Hank Jr. Said " Because you can't starve us out and you can't make us run , 'Cause we're them old boys raised on shotguns".

@@MrsRealistic - age is just a number. I'd like to think as we age we gain some wisdom & perspective. While I'm not going to presume your musical preferences, I can pretty much guarantee that your views & subscriptions will skyrocket if you start reacting to Angelina Jordan. She's a young singer (now 16) from Norway, has been covering a wide variety of classic songs (especially jazz) since she won Norway's Got Talent in 2014 - at the age of 8, & (IMHO) is the best female singer definitely in my lifetime. She has over 150 covers & originals on KZbin. In order to really appreciate her raw talent, I highly recommend her black & white performance of I Put A Spell On You (which she also arranged) - at age 9. Btw - I listen to Angelina's music every day since 1st discovering her about 18 months ago. Regardless of what you decide, I wish you & your family only the best.

@@gregorygardner9373 I love all kinds of music honestly... it just depends on the individual song. I listened to rap, rock, "alternative", grunge and heavy metal when I was growing up. My first album I ever bought was Tracy Chapman's debut album when I was 13. 😁 I used to be obsessed with Prodigy (RIP Keith Flint) and any music that was great dance music back in my late teens early 20's. I grew up as a small child, listening to classical like Vivaldi 4 seasons, The moody blues, JJ Cale, Willie Nelson...so much good music that my parents played. Thanks for your suggestion. 👍 I've never heard of her.

Quoted from a wise movie character once... Sometimes you gotta say, "What the Fuck? Make your move!"

I live in wonderful Texas too. I have been binging We the People reaction videos with my husband and we have been lifted up by these sessions. Our favorite is on the Stevie Knight channel, which I highly recommend! And in every single case, actually especially with the black Americans reacting, the smiles and laughter and appreciation are the biggest with "You piece of 💩, I don't see color - BLACK LIVES MATTER - No 💩 mother f-er!" Laughter has health benefits and the reactions of this song lower blood pressure and fortify the immune system. Or I'm wrong. Yet we have felt FANTASTIC afterwards.

Kid Rock has brought more people together with this song than almost anyone, black, white, young old, religion to religion, north, south, east, West, Dems, Reps, Independents. I hate everyone using the F word, everywhere you look they think it's appropriate and don't care weather it's in front of children or not, but in this song he used it so appropriately that I can't find fault. Amazing! I haven't heard a good rock song in so many years. Although we do have some great rappers, we don't seem to have any good rock music at all anymore. Nobody does great music like Meatloaf, Twisted Sister or Alice Cooper anymore. 😥 I remember a lot of us screaming out "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" in the school cafeteria. Do you know that our school band us from playing Twisted Sister or Alice Cooper in the school? Even back in the '70s many teachers were feminazis.

@@MrsRealistic I went to Scott Park High School in Hamilton. It was an extremely divided school. We have the feminazis on one side and the jocks on the other. I was one of the jocks. I played high School football as a fullback. Which is really strange considering my height, but growing up with five brothers and a father who was a wrestler, I was extremely tough. I wasn't anything special, but I can knock people over. It was pretty useful because my usefulness to the team kept those feminazi teachers off my butt. However the worst thing was that they believed that rock music was completely sexist against women so it was never allowed in the school. You should have seen how freaked out they were when our prom was a Queen (the band) theme. Of course we ended it with "School's Out" by Alice Cooper.

I would have to agree with you on that. Honestly, they're two wings on the same bird. Many are only in politics for self interest. How politicians end up becoming millionaires, while making $173,000 per year seems awfully fishy. I trust very few of them.

As for the minimum wage going up. as inflation erases the gain in real wages ,the raise to 15.00 puts many people in a higher tax bracket. Some people may also lose access to other supports as well.

don't know what states you're looking at but the minimum wage in most states is still in single digits.Places are paying more because they can't get workers. I still have no clue how all these unemployed people are surviving.
@MrsRealistic
@MrsRealistic 2 жыл бұрын
I'm talking about my state specifically, but a few other states have a $15 minimum wage. Places like In N Out burger here are starting people off at $15/ hour and up to $18 for more experienced workers. The majority are teenagers tho. Imagine living at home for free and making $15/ hour. I don't know how a small business stays afloat tho. They can't afford to suddenly pay everyone more money, while their overhead costs have probably gone way up as well. I don't know how anyone who is still unemployed is able to either. You can't stay on unemployment for very long. Maybe they just shift straight to welfare.

Its simple economics when minimum wage goes up prices go up. Business owners are in it to make a profit (common sense) so to be able to pay $15 an hour at McDonald's a Big Mac will double in price. Our education system has become a complete failure if you graduate high school & don't know simple economics. Im a high school graduate & i know more about how economics work the people with a masters degree in economics.
@MrsRealistic
@MrsRealistic Жыл бұрын
You're totally right. People fighting for a higher minimum wage, not realizing that places like small local mom and pop shops won't be able to pay that unless they increase the prices...Walmart could technically eat the cost, (but if it affects their CEO's bottom line and bonuses they'll most likely raise prices too) but small businesses can't. Wages haven't matched inflation for eons, and now they think they can just magically solve it by passing a law to raise minimum wage. It will fail big time.

@@MrsRealistic I'm 39 years old I'm not where I want to be in life I'm disabled I worked for 20 plus years started working on neighbors farms when I was 9 & moved to my father's when I was 11 in town & started paper routs & mowing lawns until I was at legal working age. With that said I learned at a young age it's about work ethic. Until I got put on disability & limited on how much I can make I never settled for minimum wage. If you want a life in fast food you can make a great life but only if you put the work in & move up in stature. Become a manager, move into district management then regional management & eventually you can own your own franchise but it all comes down to work ethic. These young folks today think they're supposed to be paid just for showing up & playing on their phones. If you are going to do the minimum amount of work you don't deserve the money that folks make that put the work in to earn their money. We are raising a generation of spoiled kids that have had every thing handed to them & told to got to the corner when they do something wrong & sparing the rod & wondering why the respect is pretty much gone. (Sorry for going on a soap box but I think society has declined more in the past 40 years then ever in history).
