great collection, and handle them the way you want, theyre yours anyway, when us dj's are spinning vinyl at gigs we pull em out and put em back in how we want, sounds fine over the years. we aren't here to scold you on how to handle vinyl, just watch your enthusiasm, smile and what you got.

You should definitely purchase inner record sleeves. The cheap, damaging paper ones that come with alot of records are bad for scratches and static build up.

8:50 If they don't print the sides (A/B/C/D) on the label, have a close look at the area near the label (the "deadwax" area that's between the lead-out groove and the label: there should be some information scratched* in there, including the sides. No more guessing needed. ** it looks, like it's scratched onto the vinyl, in realty (as far as I know) it has been scratched into the master disk and therefore was transferred to the vinyl in the pressing process.

i have 20+ records (I'm too lazy to get up and count lol) but my favorite is feel something by movements that i got signed by Pat at their headlining show in pomona! and also my pressing of adornment by grayscale because ITS SO prETTY oh my god. i have the midnight pressing and it looks black and red until you hold it up to the light and you can see various blues inside. its seriously unreal

I agree as an owner of over 3000 myself, it amazes me how fast ring wear appears and it only gets worst from there. she does have some great coloreds in there. colored has made a comeback in more of a glam fashion with cards and pop out things.

Hi nice collection , nice turntable . Is that your receiver / amplifier sitting under your turntable ? If you play the music loud for an extented period of time you might want to relocate your turntable . Receivers get hot and the vents on top need to be kept clear . You need to keep about a 2 inch space on top of the receiver so air can move around . You should be fine though if your not cranking it up all the time . Just put you hand on top of the receiver and see if it is hot .

Hi Gwen, as a lifelong vinyl collector, I would really recommend you keep your albums in plastic sleeves. They will protect your albums & they are not too expensive. Totally worth it. Also, avoid grabbing the sides so oil from your hands doesn't get on the vinyl.

Find a record store in your area and buy some vintage albums so you can enjoy the analog sound...lots of excellent stuff out there."New" vinyl is digital and not the same in sound. Nice collection tho'!

There are still studios and artists who record on tape nowadays. Not "all new vinyl" is produced from digital material.

finally... a girl with a proper turntable and not some crosley bullshit. there's hope for the future. i guess the blue pattern in that fallout boy album is actually a photograph of a glacier, isn't it? plus: if the mastering is done right everything should sound better on vinyl as the technical mastering process for a vinyl record is different to what is done for a digital / cd release. and - make sure you don't end up like this... which is only a part of my record collection which has well exceeded the 5000+ and counting mark years ago. instagram.com/p/BHIc36xBef7/?taken-by=baze.djunkiii

you are handling the records wrongly if you pinch it on the side oil from your fingers will leave finger prints on record

BPP 9 And leave oil on the edge of the record then the stylus will track into the grooves and ruin the record

011 when you take it out instead of pinching put your two fingers (middle and ring) onto the label and lift it up putting your pointer and your pinky finger back and take it out that’s how you take them out ,but you can put your hands on the side of the record when you take it off the turntable you put the record back the same way you put it in
