I came to America in 1996 with my brothers and I’m so thankful to God for the choices that we made. Our parents didn’t have the money to buy us Jordan or Nike shoes but we fixed our gaze on the American dream. If you’re a parent in America, talk to your kids about the American dream and encourage them always to make better choices.

This is a really important conversation. Parents who come to America have to pay attention to the things kids go through, the neighborhood you live in, the schools they attend, etc. Kids will bully and if your child is sensitive or impressionable, they will go to any group that accepts them or do the wrong thing to impress the people they want to befriend. It’s real and parents need to pay attention to the emotional aspects of bullying and or being in a new environment.

What parents with young children [including teenagers] should know is that the neighborhood you live in America is very important as they are linked to certain criminal-ridden schools which are mostly predominantly black. Although houses and apartments in these areas are reasonably priced, there is a price to pay! If your child is susceptible to peer pressure [he is denying this but who is he kidding!], this is what happens! Once you find out that your child is at risk as in this case, move right away to a neighborhood with good rated schools. If you can afford it, some of the best schools are private schools where they wear uniform [including sandals] so no such peer pressure. Although private schools may be expensive, you have to budget and cut your expenditures [in other areas] until your children graduate from high school. Once you have a criminal record in the USA [especially felonies as in this case], it will be very difficult to get a professional job. Only few people are able find good jobs with criminal records. I wish this young man the very best in life. It seems to me that he is remorseful for his past behaviors [although he is smoking 'pot' even on camera!] as he has so many years ahead of him!

I feel bad for this young man. Most of our parents easily dismiss the struggles their immigrants kids go through in American school. I came here young as well and it very hard to navigate the school system as an “abafresh.” Already, the American kids are making fun of you for being African and top of that, you feel inferior because of materialistic things. Our parents need to listen to their immigrant kids. They are all too busy working 2 or more jobs just to send money to Ghana. Most times also, location is a big factor as to how your kid turns out. And again, because our parents are trying to save as much money for their Ghana projects, they settle with cheap neighborhoods which most likely has bad influences on kids and leave everything to God. They think the all night and Sunday school will help their kids. Nope! It won’t. Listen to your kids. You think you’re saving money by restricting them or choosing a cheaper neighborhood with cheaper rent but you’ll end up paying later on in life just like this kids mom.

We explained to them our financial situation so they managed with the little they had. They were not shabbily dressed to classes either. Parents normally discount God in the upbringing of their kids. This doesn't mean taking your child to church alone or Sunday school...naah. It's about making the child love and fear God. Make the child know the importance of obeying God and know the consequences of not doing so. I promise you that if you impart the love of God in him/her, he or she will never depart from it. Also the parents who're teaching their kids about God should demonstrate what they're teaching. Lastly, single parenting is most of the time detrimental to the upbringing of a child, especially for single mothers. That's why God created marriage for a man and a woman and a child should be born and raised by them both. NB: I've family members abroad and speaking from experience.

This young man speaks so intelligently and well informed. His mom obviously did her best. One of the main reasons why parents cannot control the kids is the system. Dj Nyame please, In the next interview, ask him this question: *Since he had this bad record, how was he able to get out of America to Ghana and how was he able to get back to America without him being arrested? Because what I know about America is that if you’re wanted in the country and you hide anywhere in the world for 10 years they will still arrest you when they get you.

Not if he is an American citizen it’s easy to get one if you come here before you are 18..

It’s time for Borgas to concentrate more on where they live than where they came from. The probability that you will die where you spend most of your life is higher than where you visit once a year. Borgas wake up

This is the cause of eye-red,wanting to be like others, not appreciating what you have.Competing with others. Whenever you cut your coat according to the size of your cloth you never get into trouble. Even the abrofour live modesty lives.

Yohh Yohh big up to Kiddo 1. Push your music dream homeboy. You surely got the talent. Try to expand your genre along the way bro. Be versatile in your style of music. Be different: hiphop, hip life, afrobeat and even try AMAPIANO genre from South africa. AMAPIANO is very popular now. Mohbad was doing great with AMAPIANO until his untimely demise. May his soul rest in peace. Please listen to Mohbad's ASK ABOUT ME & I FEEL GOOD. That's AMAPIANO beats right there. Bring AMAPIANO into the Ghana music scene KIDDO 1. I BELIEVE IN YOU MY GUY. DON'T GIVE UP. May Jehovah safeguard your music journey. ❤
