Saf A. ...doesn't matter what someone else choses to do. What's right and wrong are clear. I would actually advise her to not give advise on things to do with religion because she may lead people away from the word of Allah swt. She can't give advise saying dating is halal. It's up to the two individuals how they chose to get to know each other. Whether it's with a third party always present (correct way) or not (which most young people do because they meet at work or school and hang out). Aysha or anyone else telling you they dated the brother doesn't make it halal. By the way this coming from a sister who met her husband at 19..talked/dates til 22. Got married after I graduated university and have been married for 7 yrs. I dated my husband...in the sense that we hung out at school and ate food...but would I recommend it to others. NO. Bc it's not right..no matter how someone wants to justify it.

Strawberry 93 no doubts about that but to my own best of knowledge about the saying, I believe getting to know the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with is no harm provided there is no form of immorality. Do ladies just get married and not know their husbands to an extent at least.? I don't think there's any crime in getting to knw someone while looking forward to having a lifetime together. Our intentions speaks for us better in this regard.

I wish you would make a video about dating! I don’t want to generalize and say it’s a Muslim parents thing, but there is definitely a shared culture there. The hard part is when you start dating seriously but you’re not ready to tell your parents and then you have to sneak around and you’re constantly paranoid about running into someone they know while out with your gentlemen friend. There’s a lot to talk about on this subject, I’d love to hear your perspective!

Wow I would've never guessed you had two different names! I do too, my legal name is my more "American" name that keeps me safe, but I actually usually use my cultural name (Kamilah-Mirabel or Kamibel), and I've come to a point where I'm legally changing my name to my cultural name bc I'm so proud of it and no one calls me by my other name anyways lol.
