Were you fully credentialed when you applied for Busan, or did you have to do the extra 50 hours of in-person TEFL training that their school district requires? :0 I’m getting my TEFL certification done online now so I can apply for the spring intake, and Busan would be my second choice (after Seoul), however I don’t know where to even go for the extra requirements Busan has. Love your video btw, such a cute little space! 🌸

Heya! Thank you!! That's really kind of you to say! ☺ I don't have a teaching background before I applied BUT I did do the 100hr TEFL course (60 hrs in class and 40 hrs online) with Oxford Seminars. I didn't know about the extra credentials Busan needed until after (that was just the TEFL program offered in my area at the time!) I think what also worked in my favour was my volunteering, my interview with EPIK, tutoring expereince (it wasn't specifically English but that's okay!). I also added my work experience as a manager in the service industry, training employees and such, I think that helped as well! I hope this answered your question! Good luck with your interview!! How much is the rent and the key deposit of your apartment? I know it's free but I just wanted to know the price as I'm searching an apartment for myself

I believe it was ￦300,000 per month and ￦5,000,000 deposit (this is based off of another unit in the same building which looks the exact same - it can slightly vary between units too because each have different landlords!~~)

Is the apartment size based on where you stay? Because I see a lot of teachers in rural areas have bigger apartments than those who live in Seoul and Busan

Yes yes! So the schools have ￦400,000 (about $400 usd) and the rent tends to be cheaper in smaller cities/rural areas compared to larger cities! So zi has some friends who lived in smaller areas but were given a 2 bedroom home but it took them a while to get into the city so it's the handoff sometimes!

Is it normal to be placed at a new school when you renew?

Hello! :) I feel like it is fairly common to be placed at a new school mainly because of the pandemic this past year, a lot of schools didn't have enough funding or there was not enough native English teachers coming that most people I know either got new school(s) as well or were given an additional school. I did ask my school last year if there was anything I could do to better my chances of getting renewed at the same schools while I was filling out my renewal applications but unfortunately because it was low funding both of my schools were changed! Sorry for the novel of an answer but I hope that helped! :)
