The anky video was fine and well-thought out. Refusing access to a content creator just because they have OpinionsTM is bonkers. EDIT after watching the whole thing: Pesky shouldn't need to apologize. He made an interesting video voicing his thoughts. He's not psychic--how on earth could he know that people would go after Bryan (which is really, really weird behaviour). People make videos like that for every game imaginable. The video creator is not responsible for what random wackos do (unless they specifically say "go flame this guy!" which Pesky did not). I never viewed the anky video as a hate video but as a legit argument for why the anky should be in the game. I feel like the devs are focusing on the wrong aspects of the video and not realising what the true intention of the video was. The thing that baffles me is how people seem to now be REALLY realizing how these Isle Devs and some of their diehard fans act towards those they express extreme prejudice over for speaking out against their behind the scenes behaviors and/or leaving their team when they can't put up with how disgusting they are to their own community. Some take on these toxic traits when it's exhibited by the head honcho in order to please their senpai, but others realize that's not them and dip. Only to be followed by a mob of lies and slander against them. Take Deathly for example. They have blamed him for numerous issues that they claim are the reasons they can't get their crap together in regards to progressing their own game. He's been the scapegoat of their blame for their inabilities to do right by their fans, and yet people just nod and believe it until time eventually tells the truth. Like what we're seeing here. May want to rethink all the BS they've said about Deathly when you see how dirty they do others. It's a LOT worse for those who're behind the scenes with them because they don't have as much proof as say a YTer like Pesky in this regard to defend themselves. I'm sorry this happened to you Pesky, but I'm glad you're being defended on this scale. Not many others have been so lucky and I hope this situation makes a turning point for people to look at past transgressions with a new viewpoint.

However, what you can't do is go several months between updating code and then randomly deciding that you want new things added. Which is exactly what Dondi did. Besides, look at PoT, look at how clean and polished that game looks *already* compared to The Isle and it's not even in EA yet.

Whether or not he did it, no one really has proof either way do they? I'm not saying they did everything right, and it's easy to stand on the back of what came first and build on it. The Isle is a 5 year old game with a shitty foundation that's made it impossible to make the kind of changes they wanted to make. That's why they rebuilt the game from the ground up, whether they were sabotaged or not. Again, Path of Titans is a brand new ip, they have the ability to start at a better place and build on what The Isle already started. Don't get me wrong, PoT looks pretty and I want to be excited for it. But having played it, it definitely feels lacking. 🤷‍♂️

It’s no secret the devs have always been sensitive of their game. They don’t like criticism, obviously. And if they took the time to watch the whole video and look at the comments, then they would actually know what you were talking about. You didn’t hate on anyone, send anyone after Bryan, nor did you say anything wrong for spouting your opinions. So in truth you didn’t have to apologize for anything, however I’m glad you didn’t apologize for making the video but for at least formally apologizing to Bryan (which you didn’t have to do...). Everyone else on the team was being hypersensitive and had no right to refuse you the content creator tag, especially since you haven’t done anything wrong. I’ve seen the devs talk shît to other games, they come upfront and say what they want about the game and talk down on the style or flow of the game, etc. but the fact that if you just say the Anky should stay and the roster and here’s why, doesn’t deserve the backlash you got from the devs. But it also doesn’t mean anyone going for Bryan’s head because everyone deserves an opinion and if they think they can shut people down and let them not voice it, just means that they don’t want to be wrong and/or are being selfish, self-centered and have their head so far up their aśs (excuse the bad language) that they can’t admit that their wrong or are just talking bs to people who don’t deserve it. One of the intresting things about him ive noticed is that on a repeated basis he has constantly tried making the game at an ungodly level of difficulty because he seems to find it funny to watch players torture themselves, which may be one of the reasons the comunity is so very jumpy and quick to anger, because the game they love, and probably spend the most time playing, is literally designed to kill you. I’m not surprised that this occurred, the devs of The Isle are completely unprofessional. Never before have I seen game devs who cant take criticism in such a manner, it’s almost like they forget people pay for their game.

There's always been jokes about, "haha no opinions here" in the isle community, but now that the game has gathered more players than ever I think the devs need to sit back and rethink their situation. I mean, just looking in the discord general chat, there are constantly people saying shit like, "woah, be careful, dondi might see that you have an opinion" or something along those lines. I mean, all the devs have to do is just look at the chat and realise theres an issue, but apparently thats too hard. Also, if you're the lead developer to a now large game that has an even larger community, you'd think that maybe you'd resort to something more professional than calling someone names on a stream live to thousands of people. I love this game but whenever an issue appears within the community its always shoved away with some piss poor response from the devs. I think that they are extremely skilled at doing what they love, and I know that controlling a community this large would be an extreme challenge, but just because youre in a high position of power doesnt mean that you're completely untouchable by criticism. I love the game and everything it stands for, I also have nothing against any of the devs, but there comes a point when enough is enough.

The problem is that they aren't even a little mature. Just look at the announcement yesterday that said the game would release in two days. It was nearly impossible to read because of the constant and childish side comment. If I had seen how poorly the devs represent themselves and their company then I wouldn't have purchased the game.

From my long experience in The Isle community Dondi has been characteristically horrible in handling criticism even going as far as to read negative steam reviews on his Twitch stream, which I find incredibly disgusting. Anyone who doesn't believe what he says without question gets verbally belittled and harassed by not only him, but his army of bootlickers. I've seen friends of mine (though I don't talk to them now) treated like shit for attempting to push for criticism in how the game works. (Predatoria, Hilla007) Granted these situations are unique in their own substantiation and scale, but they were unique situations met with vile toxicity and condescension none the less. When I felt the game was at it's worst, I wrote a long pointed negative review. Naturally, out of anxiety and fear of it being READ ALOUD ON TWITCH and getting HARASSED, I brought it down. I appreciate The Isle as a dinosaur game once close to my heart, but I've been incredibly let down by the community as well as lead development. A player should not fear being harassed or flamed for criticizing something they payed money for. To wrap up my rambling, I thought their general response had improved, but upon watching this video as well as the Ankylosaurus one, I'm saddened to see that they have fallen into old habits and I will continue to not engage with this game and it's vile, childish community/devs.

I watched them say this on stream and I was just shocked. How can grown men be that childish and immature towards your video? How was the actions of absolute trolls be your fault? I know people usually take it to the next level but still, it would be okay if the same thing happened to them and people went after you, because fairly, they DIDN'T put out a disclaimer to not go after you, which to be fair some people could want to harass you, it really sucks so much. Be proud that you are a better person than them. Your response is an actual response with fair points and not some immature man children crying over a genuinely fair video. Hey Pesky, I wanted to apologize for all this, you truly didn't deserve all this backlash for making a video that was ultimately just you disagreeing with Bryan. I admittedly didn't understand the whole situation when I first heard about it and truly thought the video you made was a "hit piece" on Bryan, I originally thought you were shitting on Bryan because you disagreed about the Anky. However, after seeing what people had to say I watched your original video about this whole Anky situation and realized that you really weren't being rude or inflammatory towards Bryan or anyone really. So I wanted to come here and apologize to you directly (or as directly as I can with a KZbin comment) about misunderstanding and just assuming the situation was as one-dimensional as the devs laid it out to be on stream. I've been playing the isle for yeaaaaars. The dev team have always been very sensitive because they are led by a very sensitive man who honestly has never been able to take critisicism or even be tolerable to listen to imo. I love the game but the dev team has always been its weakest point. I dont think you did anything wrong. You gave some critiques and it got out of hand with some people which is unfortunate but if the dev team just wants to sit in a echo chamber they should probably just stick to anthomnia and their own discord server I guess.

Sometimes he'll joke back though. There's also this weird feeling in there conversations. Don't know how to describe it, maybe pandering?

The Dev team are absolute man-babies. They ban people on discord for asking legitimate questions, there isn't any discernable FAQ in place that I could find on the website or discord. They said they'd tone down the sass in announcements and yet they continue to talk down to their whole fanbase as if they were some emotionally unavailable step-mother ridiculing their children. Not to mention a content creator SHOULD be able to make constructive content on a game that has been kinda dead for the last year update wise, they should be thrilled he's creating free PR for the game. It riles me up thinking a bunch of 30-year-old 'adults' is actually bullying a teenager, they need to take a step back and re-evaluate how they talk to people. To be honest, if I knew how terrible these devs were before I bought the game last year I'd probably just steer clear of it altogether.

I think the problem here isn't Pesky or Bryan it's the people who saw the video or parts of it and as they changed what information they got from the video when they passed it on too others and then those people where hating on Bryan because they where missinformed. Honestly people need to actually pay atention to disclaimers and when someone is making sugestions for how things could change for the better and not go attack the devs saying you need to change this but without giving all the the sugestions that you gave. So in other words those people are pricks and they need to change how they act or all of this drama that isn't needed can bazz off. I really want The Isle to be a good game, I really do since the moment it came out but its drama and peole like this that are holding it back.
