The parking brake adjustment on the e36 is a 12mm with a 9mm lock nut. Took me half an hour to figure out what size they were. The counter hold on the kw shocks is 9mm.

Coming from a collision repair center, using a 6/7/8/9 mm is very common specially for body panels and small plastic pieces.
