Their problem is that they don't know how to balance time and reward. They keep adding new activities, the new one more grindy than the last one, but they never rebalance an older activity. They don't make it easier, make it give you more rewards or make it less restrictive. Every activity has become a grind, often not a mindless one because of terrible rules or restrictions. We currently have a pile of garbage, and they keep adding more and more garbage on top without removing any from the bottom or middle.

Absolutely spot on. I've been saying this for ages. The Devs or decision makers lack common sense to realise this. They think adding more content will keep the player base happy, yet they don't bother to play the game themselves to see what an average player goes through on a daily to weekly basis.

One of my biggest problems right now is that as a f2p player, who does all the daily missions, all the weekly missions, all the events that come out, all the weekly stuff like demon king or demonic beasts, I'm just too tired. The time I put into the game is not at all comparable to the rewards. What's the point of me doing all that shit, when I still lose in PVP because my CC is way lower than a whale's, when I still can't clear the most difficult modes in the game because I don't have the proper units. There's just so much content, most of which is either too grindy, or too difficult (demon king fight), and I just can't be bothered. Another thing is gacha. I really don't like the fact that I'm basically forced to pull for meta units. In so many other gacha games you can simply pull for characters that you like, but in GC? If you don't pull for this character, you won't be able to clear this part of the game, if you don't pull for another unit you'll lose all the time in PVP. And obviously, as a f2p I can't pull for every gacha, and I refuse to skip characters that I like, because they're the sole reason I even play this game.

I feel this about the demonic beasts. Its so exhausting to go through 15 minutes of gameplay just to beat it one time and recieve barely any rewards. and that's if you can be it that run, cause sometimes rng will be the factor you lose.

And the gacha has only gotten worse with URs because they are the peak of powercreep and you literally cannot skip one or it will come back to bite your ass. And its a non-stop flow. Its ur, ur, collab, ur, ur, ur... its impossible to stay up to day or even remotely because lets be real here for a second, 0.25 of pulling a unit is such an absurdly bad rate, so most of the time, you are forced to go to 900. As soon as Thor's banner is done, get her or not, im dropping the game. It became a money grab designed for whales, not for average players. And about pvp, i got to champion 5 on a full f2p account. At this point is: Log in, go to pvp for the daily, dude that has 30k+ cc over me, surrender, log out. It just sucks and is a completely dead game mode if you dont put money into it.

Another point to bring up is characters in this game has 0 longevity. There’s always gonna be a unit that counter them, and it makes u feel bad for summoning for the previous unit. I dont mind it happening occasionally but It’s gotten much worse in 2023 and 2024. For example gelda counters arthur and they released gelda while arthur’s banner is still up. Like wtf?

As someone that was there for og coin shop and geared pvp rewards this video rly opened my eyes on how differently I see/play the game now, I still remember the first collab they did (slime) and without ever hearing of the show in my life it was so incredibly hype, I had my phone out playing while doing chores, I was playing actively with a maxed out knighthood that everyone would chat, compare banner pulls, unit strength and friendly battles with each other, the collab made me watch the anime, the coin shop made the game a million times more successful for a f2p 15 year old that I was as well as having weapons in the pvp shop to allow you to catch up to the whales, now I went from an above average player (strongest f2p in a whale knighthood) to being the leader with the old leader being offline for 400+ days and an most 2 ppl logging in a day, the game has become more of a character collector for me now, where I'll log in for gems, summon, if I don't get the character I log off, if I do, I max them with my stockpile of event rewards, test them out in some pve/pvp games then log off and rinse and repeat. I doubt they ever will but I'd love to see them attempt a reboot of sorts where they simplify and remove many of the systems and features by consolidating them into a more digestible gameplay experience that doesn't require the same amount of time im at work each week to true awaken a single character. I believe I have played the demon king battle maybe 5-6 times and when I realised how bad the rewards were I haven't played since, I have 3 lr characters (mainly lr coins from event rewards) and 0 true awakened characters with my last fully costumed character probably being purgatory, big wings king or traitor/purgatory meli, ever since them I don't see any reason to spend half of a full banner's pity on costumes for a character that is basically unusable 3 months later, idk man the game used to be amazing, and I still like the game, it just is too much now, definitely not the game I used to enjoy with my friends

The first half of 2024 was cool as per the release schedules. 4 sds festivals, regular banner characters being overpowered - intro to 4koa. Decent collabs. And suddenly they decided that it's time to release 3 b2b OCs, including a character that has basically no voicelines. Shitty banners, fests that only work with other fests, a new HR upgrade mechanic that you probably will never need and yet sits up there etc. Like just condense Bird to 1 floor and give out the prev HRs for free. Bird HRs are so outdated giving them for free won't even hurt anyone.

Yeah, this year has been weak for GC, I didn't even log in for the majority of the year, and really the only thing that feels like I missed are the units (like Arthur and Gowther) that it feels like they're punishing you for not being around for them. Which, to an extent I get, but for how integral they've been for the amount of time that they've been kept from returning... It's a little much. EVEN MORE SO with how there's very little new permanent worthwhile content (and it happens to favor the new characters....) Costume having stats was already a mistake, but they could give out free costumes to at least bridge the gap..... They don't really give out that many for new characters and every character that is worthwhile is a new named character with new costumes that need to be newly upgraded. What happened to the fun pvp rules like increasing stats for R and SR characters. Sure at this point you need to triple their stats and even then only a few will manage to be runable, but having thw option to replace one unit in a meta team for an R or SR for fun can still be engaging for a little while. All it takes is a single change every once in a while. OC characters are fine every once in a while.... Just space them out between a few more neglected 7ds characters. If they had made a 6-8 episode anime, with okay writing, and decent fights. Ragnarok would have worked. However, they're clearly scared to invest into the old stuff, when they could just invest less into the new stuff, take the money from people being distracted by how new and shiny it is, and repeat. I think they meant going back before the first slime collab for their "roots".

As someone that plays grandcross, genshin, and also something like Elden ring, the appeal of genshin is for one it has the best gatcha system where you are almost guaranteed to get the character you want and in 90 pulls or usually less Grand Cross for a unit that's usable you need to go to 900 and xould get absolutely shafted and walk away with nothing. That's not even discussing the increase of ult passives making characters you pull multiple copies of feel extra bad. Genshin on the other hand most units are perfectly fine with the one copy. Another thing is genshin and grand cross are two different genres one is turn based pvp combat the other is mostly a visual novel with some pve on the side ex the abyss for players to want to grind their build to. (I argue that it could be better but it suffers the exact same artificial difficulty that grand cross does, where it's not that's it's hard it's that gou dont have proper units or levels for it yet. Only im grand cross most of the essential activities want you have a character that usually only appear on low value shit banners(feels bad to pull on) so then the difficulty feels much worse not because its hard but because you dont have the unit needed to do it properly. If you're a casual player you go into Genshin experience the story go into the open world an explore (another thing that grand cross doesn't have) gear up until you can challenge the abyss. In Grand cross you can come in get shit untits that are unuseable play pvp and constantly lose because you are hardlocked out of it, using shit units like old thor. Another issue issue is how quickly units become irrelevant now. The only GC banner i ever spent money on was festival adult king's first banner because he was basically necessary to play the game so I put everything into him only to be power crept to hell immediately after. You never feel like you achieved anything, unlike genshin that gives you that sense of progress, even Elden Ring when you kill something that seems unkillable. Finally Grand cross now a days is a pay to play game, whales have the advantage, you dont ever have to pay a cent in genshin and you'll live comfortably with your multiple reruns( wheres chaos author rerun? , Gelda didn't get one unitl she was already powercrept) CC is another thing keeping newer players down because there's now way for them to have enough of it to matter, why not just have it be a coin flip? Instead of i have more money i go fitst i win. I miss the days when we could create wacky teams and Red Sareil was consider a crazy unit. Alright no more rambling 😭

Love the video, as a genshin and star rail player (the insults are so true LOL) I had SO MUCH FUN in 7dsgc. I didn't play super far back but I started around 1st re zero collab to stranger things collab and really got into it from Green Fest Gowther onwards. This year is complete ass cheeks for 7ds and the grinding is so much I started taking a break from the game and playing casually (i.e. doing dailies and collecting pvp rewards) OC's are kinda cool but I especially love the big dmg, Tyr was a force to be reckoned with but I do not care about the story at all

One thing too that DBL and Dokkan did was when they announced a new rarity, they made multiple FREE characters in that rarity before monetizing it. LR Prime battle SSJ Goku, Ultra SSJ Goku, Scouter Vegeta, and Omega Shenron, all FREE CHARACTERS BEFORE THE RARITY GOT MONETIZED. Grand Cross announced UR Festivals and made the players pay for it. LR characters (for the most part) are much more of a difficult grind than the mindless grind that DBL/Dokkan did. Prime battles needing 777 medals was a bit of a long grind, but you could do it in a day with how fast you could clear stages with FREE CHARACTERS. Honestly I'd like to see anyone clear Hero Arena with free characters only. SSR Tickets and Coin Shop units. Sounds like hell.

I think the issue is people chase every new character. As a f2p I picked a team to stick with, and Goddesses could do basically do everything as a PvE team. I can even clear Bird, Deer, Wolf's, and Snake with Goddess team. So it made sense as a f2p to invest in one team that could do it all, then everything I earn extra from that I used to build a PvP team and so on. It's all about strategies and not chasing every money grab they throw at you, that's free diamonds, keep them, save up for units you need, not want.

Changes I would make: Dungeon, increase pendant drops (SSR/UR). Demons: Do each demon once a week only and increase the reward. Demonic beast: Make each beast once a month, increase reward (considerably) PvP elite: increase reward in store. Demon King: Increase reward considerably. Reverse stage: Restart every month, add new stages. Buff old characters to be second or third option for PvP teams or just for PvE, to be usable. Coin shop: placing archangels on SSR currency, placing very old festivals on SSR coins permanently. Place Light and Dark characters in the event with festival coins (5 coins). Return SSR characters in gold coins

As one of the few people who play 7ds AND star rail daily - while star rail has it's own dogwater problems with gear grinding for months due to LAYERS of RNG you need to go through to get something good, as well as being limited on by same said energy(or resin in genshin I suppose tho I don't play that), farming your skil levels, char levels and light cone levels can take many days compared to 7ds being easy to rush and pre-farm for units from 1 to 100. HOWEVER this is not about defending 7ds, while these are some star rail issues, 7ds has (like you said) way too many fkin systems and everything, which then already makes it so much more exhausting to do. Sure, levels and SA are not too insane: But then it's costumes, true awakening, relics, now relic upgrading... I'm not even doing DK stage since the start cause I can't be asked to perma farm him for RNG DROPS. I have gotten both Sabnak and Thor only once at 900 which was pretty R-word in itself... I lowkey don't even feel like trying out Bird stage 4 despite having Thor... Coinshop is dead, base UR make everything else dead and it's too expensive, Training Cave has good rewards and is skippable with tickets which is good at least, Banners are ass and lineups in last two FESTIVAL BANNERS have been the worst I've seen in ages... ALSO, while I technically do love OCs and their designs, I fully understand the gripe of them spamming them and not doing much 7 deadly sins chars in between. BUT my problem isn't "Who's Baldur? Who's Thor?" IT'S "HOW THE FK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KEEP UP WITH THE LACK OF GEMS WHEN IM FORCED TO GO 900 EVERY FES BANNER WITH 600 FOLLOWUP OF COLLAB BANNER THAT WONT GIVE ME ALL CHARS AND FORCE ME TO GO MORE THAN 1 ROTATION **TO THEN GO ANOTHER 900 FES BANNER RIGHT AFTER** !?!?" My issue with 7ds Grand Cross is that there isn't a PRACTICE AREA TO TEST TEAMS AND DAMAGE OR EVEN TO SEE HOW EFFECTIVE BUILDS or combinations of cards are VS TEAMS AT YOUR LEVEL. You just go into pvp and face players higher than you or weaker....and results are so inconsistent.

Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross was based on a preexisting universe so I came to it for those characters. What did they think would happen when they started prioritizing characters that have nothing to do with the canon lore? I’ve lost so much interest in the game for that reason. Definitely not a pro gamer so it’s not a very relevant comment but it kinda sucks cause I really want more SDS content. If they really wanted to give it the Genshin treatment maybe have more character events so we can expand on characters that didn’t get more screen time? When was the last time we saw anything good from Gilthunder or even Diane??. Frankly, out of the entire Seven Deadly Sins, only three members are still worth anything; the other four have become irrelevant. Red Gowther, for example, was a powerhouse for a long time, but try using him today.

You spend hours upon hours first finding where to get the materials (they are in various locations), then having to grind them consistently just to get a damned character up NOT TO MENTION RATES VARY, and THEN you have to do stupid grinds just to level up each individual skill which is ANOTHER PAIN in the ASS, oh but don’t even get me started on the EQUIPMENT YOU HAVE TO GRIND FOR TOO. I literally deleted honkai because it took up too much of my life. Side quests in hoyo games are the most tedious long missions ever for the most garbage rewards. Honkai had me running multiple businesses for multiple side quests for hours, for not even a single summon. But yea nag is tripping, those games are grindy af, holy relics ain't even that bad to grind when I played SDS.

Instead of increasing the obtainable gems, they have been slowly taking away few gems here and there recently. We don't get the 8 gems in final boss clear rewards anymore. And we didn't get the 1 gem per day for solgres event this time. These might sound like some changes but once u add everything up, it's definitely bad.

39:20 what really sucks about this is that I think the reason that 4KOA isn’t that hype is because of the trainwreck that was season 3 and 4 of 7DS. When combined with some of the questionable characters in 7DS (ex: Hands off my Woman), it caused 7DS to have so much negative reputation that once 4KOA came out, it didn’t have nearly as much hype as people think of it as “the sequel to the shitty pedo anime” and are hesitant to watch as a result.

Not true. We still have no festival commandments, no festival archangels except mael and Margaret. Only 1 mael unit, no grayroad, nerobasta, full size fraudrin, indura monspeet or derieri. We could get movie characters. The 6 knights of black have no units except bellion. Dahlia and Dubs have no units. They could do tag units similar to hawk and Oslo, such as king and Diane or meli and ban/elizabeth. There are so many options but they’re just being lazy

Honesty, in case of OCs, i actually like BBS's approach. Create OC versions of the canon characters instead of creating random OCs altogether. OC version of 7DS or 10 commandments etc would be far more interesting (like the UR escanor) than random OC you have no attachment to.

My main issue with the game isn’t the mechanics or the amount of content it’s more of the timegating and stat checking. Box CC providing stats made whales(who already had the ult level advantage) even stronger with giving basic stats based on how many units you have leveled up and built. So now instead of wanting to build a unit I like or being careful on my resources I’m being forced to auto spend my hard grinded for materials on as many units as I can to hope to get my box cc and basic stats up high enough to pass the stat walls that modern content have. Not only that but if your new(or unlucky) you can’t even hope to do that content without having the perfect units for it and without having the extremely timegated card sets necessary to beat the content or make certain teams work

Its not like this is the fist time they do this they intentionally release bad characters for CC just so you can be able to skip and summon on the next best thing this case collab. After being bombarded with festivals back to back its nice to be able to take a break and save for the things you actually need. You dont need to summon on every banner when most will rerun over and over. Collabs however? Its never certain if they will rerun them as often as OG content.

Simple solution we need a brand new pve activity that is created for weak old outdated units with similar seasonal buffs like hero arena because let's be honest netmarble will never buff all holy knights/commandments to make pvp meta compatible

Honestly my only issue with the game currently is the fact that I cannot use old units. Like I would absolutely love to go into PvP and have a chance to use a unit like purgatory ban or something. Im not saying I will win, but atleast have a chance if I play correctly instead ban getting 1 shot by a lvl 1.I 6/6 my light escanor, maxed his costumes out, and i cannot even use him because he's so outclassed at this point. What was the point of him being a festival if theres absolutely NO way I can use him. I used to spend money on this game, but it's gotten to the point where if i invest in a unit, 1 month later it's gonna be useless so I may as well save my money. Like honestly, they just need the scale the units better. If they do that and make some of the 100+ units we have playable, that would help the game alot just with that.

This is a very good video. I play genshin for 4 years, star rail from 1st day and Grand Cross from like 2.5 years an i still play all 3 games but in gc in 2.5 years that i played EVERY SINGLE DAY i have ONLY 9.8mil box. But a new play will see a lot of chars and be like fuck this game, it have too many chars, back to genshin or hsr. And i am not a f2p player in gc, i spend like 50-100 euros like every month since a year and the game needs some big fixes for new players to play the game. One thing they can do is to make a free banner with all the usless chars and some useble chars.

I just started playing again after a couple years. I had so much mats and stamina to really get like 2 units but I do have to say, for all the work I’ve done, it’s not a lot compared to getting the relics. I trying to get LR Meli mats, LR escanor mats and a few more things and looking at that, it’s almost impossible if you’re playing casual. Granted I now have a job in ssles where I’m on my ass so there’s a bit more time but it’s not fair that’s the criteria to put in some work on the game

(I'm gonna gush a bit over it cause I genuinely admire how consumer friendly it is, promise I'm not a hoyo slave lmao) You get a limited banner multi every patch, around 5K-8K farmable gems, enough to pity a 5 star depending on how much you play. Events last 40 days (the entire patch) so there's no FOMO. Battlepass missions are weekly, not daily, again no FOMO you can complete it on weekends! Dailies take, unironically, 2-5 minutes to complete and you don't even have to use all of your stamina, the excess is sent to a reservoir that caps at 2400 (this is around 30 days worth of Stamina, you get 240 daily) And finally, some 4 stars can legitimately compete/be viable replacements for premium 5 stars. HSR is just really good if you want a chill turn-based game to play in the background, I even sometimes miss logins and I'm not punished for it because of how forgiving it is. 9/10 would recommend.

Ever since Demon King released I havent done it more than once. I just cant be arsed. The 1000 CC and 10% dmg reduction is literally useless for me when I cant outcc half the time anyway due to costumes. Why would I do one of the worst grinds in the game for hours and hours to not even get a benefit that would help me really?? Yes it would make a slight difference, it is something but really I dont feel the need to want it. Same with Gate 4 Bird, why would I want to do it for slight benefits? I always hated how little of the side materials you got from Demonic Beasts anyway like the mid tier crystals. Now they added them to events and coin shop atleast so I am not forced to do 2000 more birds

Main issue that I have with 7ds is the NEED to have specific characters. Any other game there exist min-maxing, you can do the WHOLE content with just the SR or their equivalent 4* units if you max those. No need to get specific characters, or overpowered characters. PvP is one thing but at the end of the day most of the people just want to do the content without having to wait weeks, months or years till they get the CHANCE to get the character they need for x content. Any other game you have strategy. Here? It's throwing anything that can one-shot a enemy in pve and if you can't then you get obliterated next turn. But dunno, at this point reverse1999 have covered this itch i have..... and now I am kinda trying to keep hope for 7ds and not just deleting it and moving over there.

dokkan is one of those games where they have a decent amount of content for an amount of time and you feel complete after finishing it and then you can prepare for the next celebration or event with sds you will NEVER complte or feel completed in the game whihc is bad and good it means theres still stuff to do which is good but you never get the satifaction of completeing something because its a never ending grind

I watched Amazing’s video as I commented under his video. I feel like GC is trying to hard to be Dokkan. The infinite loop for relics is basically Dokkan for links. The big difference is GC is a PvP based so if you don’t have the relics then you can’t win. Dokkan on the other hand the links are optional and Dokkan is not PvP based. One of the things that bothers me with GC is that everything is SOO expensive from gold to stamina. I think they should pull a Dokkan and make the challenge fights like bird floor 4 0 stamina cost due to the challenge. Dokkan is a 9 year old game vs GC with is 4.5 years old. So Dokkan has a reason to have a lot of content and it’s optional. This is why despite that I play both daily I prefer Dokkan over GC.

The new activities are all for character upgrades that don't actually upgrade the characters. The "upgrades" raise the power of every unit indiscriminately and that 1) Makes older content a joke and 2) Does nothing for older characters that NEED a boost.

The demon king fight says enough about the game for every new player. You use coins to play it, you sometimes can't even play the match if you don't have a unit that has a one of the specific rules, its MEGA specific, most people can't beat it unless you have albedo. You have to sit through of minute of him attacking you just to see if you can play the game or if you have to quit because you dont have the card. if you don't get 2 stances, you lose, you don't follow the rules in the 2nd phase, you lose. It's like they want you to hate the gamemode. The worst part is it's mandatory, cause if you wanna play pvp, without true awakening, you're gonna get stomped and out CC'd.
