Thank you for your video..., I am very happy for you. My story is not so great but hoping the redo I had will recover what the first surgeon damaged by not being more detail oriented. My advice to anyone going through this is; if you don't get good vibes from the retina Dr. like they seem rushed or too slow, go with your gut feeling and look for someone else!

Just had a Pneumatic Retinopexy procedure on the 18 of Jan ( was injected gas bubble ) and returned Jan 22 to have the laser part of procedure. Was in the side sleep position for over 10 days. Wearing patches on and off. But seeing the gas.bubble take up about 75% of my right eye vision. And today started to see black cobwebs. Kinda getting anxiety, do not want to repeat this procedure . Especially the laser part , worst pain ever and awake the whole time. At first I was told that I had detachment but it somehow healed it self , which I heard is rare. But then they saw a Macular hole and I think this more the reason why they immediately wanted to perform this procedure.

I've had mine for 4 years now-- and I've NEVER seen any "dark spots" or anything like that--- I'm blind in my detachment eye- but it's because of a VERY bad- old hard cataract... having the cataract removed and a vitrectomy same day this wED.. if I can see afterward-- fine.. they can do another if they wish ( he said may take multiple surgeries) but if i can't-- there will BE NO MULTIPLE surgeries.. I'll wear a patch and have a panoptix lens put in the good one and forget about it. I can't see out of it NOW_ so if after one surgery there is no improvement-- that's IT- NO MO!!! If I do WITHOUT-- big deal- I've done that 4 years now and am use to it. OH- and doc said mine on a scale of 1-10, mine is a 15 min. and will take over an hour instead of the usual 10 min. to remove-- PLUS the vitrectomy. He is NOT using gas bubble on me- using SILICON OIL instead- because it's stronger to hold it in place longer- and can be left in indefinitely!!

I am given anaesthetic before the laser but I am not tolerating the pain. Then I am also anxious so before we begin, I am in flight or fight mode (fight mainly). I have undergone a surgery to fix retina from bad detachment in my right eye - almost 4 weeks after surgery, I do have still blood or whatsoever in my right eye, no vision except light perception, since my left eye vision is normal but right vision is blurry- combined or overlapping vision is a bit blurry- what does that imply? 2. @prismcounseling
@prismcounseling 4 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry. I know a friend who had to lay down for 8 weeks straight, two times (each stint for each eye)! I think mine was shorter because of the specifics around my detachment (they were smaller groups of tears, rather than a large detachment), but I can't say for sure. Try to get ready by making yourself as comfortable as possible. Get one of those massage chairs with a hole in the face rest so you can still read and watch tv. Get some shows ready to binge watch. My doctor gave me the green light to lift again after one month. I still took it easy for the first six months, but started going hard again after that. I haven't had any issues since.
