I bought an Eos 3 a couple of months ago. I really like it and the Canon glass is really good. I'm considering selling my Mamiya 645 Super, since I have not used it since I got the Eos 3. I find that the Eos 3 negatives hold up pretty well in the darkroom, almost always spot on exposure and sharpness.

Hey, nice video with detailed information about this wonderful camera! It has been my dream camera since I started to get into film photography a few years ago, then I watched your video a month ago and I recently found a real bargain: 120 euros and it was an almost mint sample. Needless to say, I didn't even think to skip it and immediately got it; it's a marvelous camera, got for a stealin' price and it's really worth every penny spent! Keep going with your channel, good luck!! Oh, before the EOS 3, one of your videos conviced me to buy an EOS 100 for dirt cheap: I'll keep both, the second one fits better when you don't want to carry too much weight with you, its popup flash works pretty well and daaaamn, it's almost silent!!

Great review of a great EOS camera! I got an EOS 3 a few years ago - I don’t shoot it as much as I shoot some of my Rebel bodies because I really like lightweight cameras. The viewfinder and build of this camera are definitely superior - very solid choice

I have been shooting Canon since 1972, and it’s the best sounding shutter of any camera I have used. It’s loud but exudes confidence and authority. If this camera could talk, it would say: “Don’t mess with me, get out of my way, I know what I am doing.”

I've had three Elan IIe cameras and would say they are my favorite film cameras but they are expensive to repair, that's why I've had three of them. I really love that eye focus feature. I'm looking at an EOS 3 as a replacement.
@CraigBergonzoni Жыл бұрын
Oh I hear you on the Elan IIe repairs. You can't go wrong with the EOS 3. This is a stellar camera. I think it's a bit underrated in the film photography community.
@anyhoot474 жыл бұрын
About 15 years ago I picked up an Elan 7e and simply fell in love with it. It has the diopter on the viewfinder, the Eye Control, the film leader option to either roll it in the canister or leave a a leader. But, I really like the silent mode which makes the 7e one of the quietest film cameras to shoot with. However, I've always had my eye on the EOS 3. The 45 focus points is a plus. I would also go with a battery grip, it makes portrait shooting that much nicer. Ideally I would like to replace my XTi with a 6D and replace or compliment my 7e with an EOS 3. Growing up on film means shooting film is familiar territory. With an Epson V750 pro I can crank out some impressive megapixels. As for digital, a 6D blows an XTi out of the water. The only advantage I see with an APS-C size sensor is the magnification factor when shooting with a 75-300. With a 1.6 magnification factor, at 300mm I'm able to get a focal length of 480mm and with IS things are sharp. But, when it comes to the 17-35 2.8L, full frame is sweet. Great video, glad to see it and look forward to seeing more.

I'm also a 6D user and love it. I've owned a few Canon crop sensor cameras before. They're great but I love my 6D. I do have an X-H1 which is a crop sensor but I use that for video as much as anything else. As far as the film cameras go, you can't go wrong with the EOS 3 or the Elan 7e. I love both of them. Sometimes it's nice to use the slightly smaller camera in the 7e. That's awesome you have a 17-35, btw. I need to pick one of those up. Thank you for watching and the great comment! I appreciate hearing feedback and other user stories. Let me know if you end up picking up an EOS 3.

I was looking to build on my EOS cameras. Side note: I love love love my "A" cameras! I picked up a 10S for some reason, but fell in love with color film because of it. Oh, I only shoot B&W in my "A"s and "T"s. I compared the 1, 3, and A2. I found the A2E's control knob to be the deciding factor. Otherwise, they all have 8000th shutter and eye control, so the knob sold it. It also doesn't hurt that I can buy 2 or 3 A2Es for the price of a 1 or 3. Also got it with the VG 10 grip. Can't wait to load it up and go shootin! Great video, thanks.

I have this camera and an eos(elan) 50e in my camera bag. I'm just starting out with film photography and have been using the 50e alot, with a 50mm f 1.8., Not really used the eos3 yet as I feel it's waaaaay more advance than my current technical ability, however your video was very helpful and gives me more insight to how it works. Also so did your review on the 50e so thank you for that too. I recently just inherited these cameras so this is a whole new world for me. Have you ever used an FD lens on the eos3 or 50e? If so what are your thoughts. I have 3 fd lenses I would like to use but can't afford something like an AE-1 just yet.
@CraigBergonzoni4 жыл бұрын
That's great about your cameras! I'm happy my videos have been some sort of help. The 50e is a fantastic camera. You may never feel like you need more than that. To be honest, as much as I fell in love with the EOS 3, I keep gravitating toward the smaller, quieter cameras like the Elan cameras (50e, 33v, etc). So I can see where you're coming from there. So as far as FD lenses go. Unfortunately they don't adapt very well to the Canon EF system. Ironically old manual focus Nikon lenses adapt really well. The adapter is super small so it's almost like they're native to the camera. I would keep those FD lenses though because they are some great lenses. Maybe someday you'll find an AE-1 or AT-1, or even an FTb or F1. Use an F1 and an FTb often. I also adapt my FD glass to my Fujifilm mirrorless cameras. Let me know if you have any more questions. Best of luck with your shooting! And thanks for watching and commenting!

Hey, I just got an EOS 3 and when I am above 4000 shutter speed it gives me a bc indicator, which causes it to shutter sporadically thereafter, Do you have any idea on what might be causing this? Could it be potentially the battery I am using which is the Panasonic 2CR5?
@CraigBergonzoni3 жыл бұрын
It's possible it's a battery power issue, especially if it only happens at those faster shutter speeds.
