Dr. Saunders. Paging Dr. Saunders. Pruning needed in operating room 3. Residents, bring pencil and paper to take notes. Wow! This Ficus is in great surgical hands with Dr. Saunders.

I like Dawn. If it is good to wash birds from the oil spills then I figure they are good for the plants.

Branch selection. Always tough to do, but necessary for sure. nice work as usual.

That was quite some drastic pruning, but I think it turned out well. The basic structure is definitely well im proved! The good thing about you getting rusty tools is that we'll see another tool clean up video sooner :)

@@francescamocerithibert2937 I wonder if I'm not leaving it on long enough because I've been using a pretty expensive kind of neem concentrate. I always rinse after 10 minutes or so because I've had a few plants react badly and defoliate after being treated. I appreciate it!

Great improvement. I like the idea of having 3 or 5 well tapered main branches at the end of the trunk with good ramification instead of having 20 leggy thin branches at the same point. The good example is the thick main branch on the right side.

Hi Nigel, first of all many thanks for your dedication and devotion to the care of the green world! One simple question: based on your experience, can we cut hard the benjamina to produce back bud? It tends to elongated branches producing leaves only on the edges (like the lower one that decided to cut). Thank you from sunny Portugal
@TheBonsaiZone
@TheBonsaiZone Жыл бұрын
Yes, they will back bud, but the location is always quite random and some branches might die off, but usually the tree always lives!
@vjoaquim
@vjoaquim Жыл бұрын
@@TheBonsaiZone thanks a lot! Yes, I've noticed that they die off sometimes but it's good to know that they tend to resist ;) I find it very curious that you don't like to use wire, or even talk about it, what makes your channel a very special channel! Sometimes when you are explaining you line of thoughts about the decisions (one of your most particular characteristics) a guide wire would resolve the problem, nevertheless you never go for that direction! I appreciate that. :) May we have hope to hear you talking about it? Would love to hear your insights on wire! Best wishes / Vj

Hi Nigel, I was considering the narrower trunk base/reverse taper section and the way it conveniently has stress, compression marks on the inner bend, side view - I think it is calling out for a temple stone to form around as if it has always been nestled there.

Nigel, did you video the building of this temple? I can't seem to find it if you did...I'm trying to determine how you built the structure...With what kind of stones and the cement you used...Thanks...

Hi Nigel, I have a question: if I prune a branch, it stops thickening. I know that much, but would it start to thicken if I let the two I get from pruning extend long?
