The tree sees Nigel whip out the blue scissors. **Cold nervous sweat** That root on the right hand side going in between those two layers of the temple, then forking into 3 or 4 smaller roots looks amazing!

Thank you Nigel, one of your viewers asked about a poultry update and I too would like that. I love the roosters crowing in the background of many of your vids. When I watch a new video I always say to myself, I hope we get to hear the roosters today and we almost always do. Chicks and ducks and kittens better scurry...

I think a small rubble pile to the right of the temple and a few stray bricks would give it a balaced asymmetry and really sell the idea of ruins reclaimed by forest

Beautiful root development. I’ve got a couple of root over rocks that I think need some selective root pruning. I’m always inspired watching you work. Thanks, keep growing

The root over temple is looking fantastic!! I love the roots, and how the temple is looking like the ficus broke it down. I could look at the roots for hours! I can’t believe how far it’s come. 🙂

I think the look of a oval or circular pot would be best for this tree. It would better contrast the straight lines and angles of the temple and cut down on the surface area of the soil putting more emphasis on the planting.

Nigel, from now on, when you prune shoots of your ficus, you are obligated to package them up and send them to me here in Florida. It's an unwritten law here, so if your videos are shown in the US, you must send them to me. Other than that, I really enjoy your ficus (and all of) your videos.

Is there a secret for making a ficus stop sending spindly little branches up every time it wants to make new leaves? I'm trying to show the vertical growth of mine while still encouraging it to make more leaves. Mine just has a fair little canopy of leaves, that's just like three inches above the large main branches I want it to be using.

What else you bring to the show? If I may make suggestions Frankinficus, the serissa, and the portulacaria Afra forest( in no particular order) are jaw dropping. If you ever put one of those 3 I would literally try to drive from sw Georgia to pick them up.

Cement pot is the best! It's just a bit too big, if only you could get a smaller pot from the one, who made this one?

Ugh, I don't like that rooster. But then again, he made me laugh with his insistent claiming of attention and "comments". Did you pause to take him farther away from your work bench? Although I don't like the rooster, I have to give him credit for his counterintuitive value as an entertaining element, I guess.
@Candice.BonsaiScience2 жыл бұрын
When you showed the tree in the original pot suddenly the tree and trunk and entire scape completely jumped out and it highlighted the entire tree. Try a red glazed oval or circle if you have one available!
